Why the rich and famous party people of Tinseltown refuse to hire personal drivers is a mystery.  Actress Lindsay Lohan, always bedeviled by intoxication rumors and innuendo, has now been cited for suspicion of DUI after single-car crash on Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills, California.

Lohan was cited for investigation of driving under the influence Saturday and was injured when her Mercedes ran into a curb, the police said in a statement.

Early in the morning, Lohan, 20, and two other people were driving in her 2005 Mercedes when she ran into a curb on Sunset Boulevard at about 5:30 a.m., Sgt. Mike Foxen said.

"She was cited and released because she has been admitted to a local hospital for minor injuries," Foxen said to the AP.

Foxen told the AP no one else was injured, and that Lohan will have to appear in court to answer the citation.

The arrest news was broken on X17.com, a paparazzi online news site

Lohan and her publicist reported that the actress was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Allure Magazine conducted an interview with Lohan for their May issue hich detailed her stint at Wonderland Center, an addiction treatment facility, at the suggestion of her therapist.

"It's so weird that I went to rehab. I always said I would die before I went to rehab," Lohan told Allure.
