Johnny Depp says his children are his "reason to exist".
The actor insists his daughter, Lily Rose, seven, and son, Jack, five, have given his life meaning.
Depp - whose long-term partner is French star Vanessa Paradis -said: "My family is my sanctuary. I live for them now. I finally found a reason to exist in this world. There is nothing like it. I would give everything away if I could only keep my family."
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star cannot bear to be apart from his family and takes them away with him on location no matter where in the world he is shooting.
He said: "They were with me in the Bahamas when we were filming 'Pirates...'. The most I was apart from my family was four weeks and it drove me mad. I can't do it. You shouldn't have to be apart from your family."
Depp has also revealed his daughter's recent life-threatening illness made him reflect on his priorities.
Lily Rose spent 9 days in a London hospital in March after contracting the potentially deadly E. coli bacteria.
He said: "It was a bumpy patch but she has come through. It was a reminder to us of how lucky we are to be able to breathe, walk, talk and think."
