Angelina Jolie's birth tattoo

Angelina Jolie has a new tattoo in honour of where her children were born.

The actress has had four lines of geographical co-ordinates etched onto the top of her left arm, each one representing the map position of her four children's country of birth.

The four lines descend in chronological order of when each of Angelina's kids became part of her family.

The first line contains the longitudinal and latitudinal location of Cambodia, where Angelina's first adopted child five-year-old Maddox was born.

Next, are the longitude and latitude co-ordinates for Ethiopia, the birthplace of her two-year-old adopted daughter Zahara, followed by the map location of Namibia, the country where Angelina gave birth to Shiloh, her daughter with Brad Pitt.

The final co-ordinates point to Vietnam where the actress adopted her third child, three-year-old son Pax Thien, earlier this year.

Angelina, 31, showed off her new etching at the Cannes Film Festival where she is promoting her latest film 'A Mighty Heart'.

The screen beauty is famous for her love of body art and her latest piece is believed to be her thirteenth.

Angelina's tattoos include a large Asian tiger on her back, a large black cross on her left hip and the words "Know Your Rights" just below her neck.

She previously underwent painful laser treatment to have a tattoo of the name of her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton removed from her left arm - the same place where her new tattoo is.
