I wonder where he gets his healthcare?
I'm not a big moore fan but thank god someone is paying some attention to this issue. It is rediculous that we spend billions upon billions upon billions of dollars of war (or other wasteful projects) and can't even bother to help ensure every American get decent health care.
I've had the opportunity to use other countries national health care and they do generally work pretty well. As I tell most people I run into in the USA who are opposed to national health care, 'The USA might have the best available health care and medical technology in the world (and even this is highly debateable), but if you can't afford it then you have no health care at all. Therefore, even if the national health care of another county was ranked 50th in the world, that is still a hell of a lot better than the health care a lot of Americans are receiving!'
Anyway, all it comes down to is what we are a country think about ourselves and our citizens. But hey, if you like the pay-as-you-go mega ripoff system of health care that discriminates against people for every reason they can find, then don't bother and keeping working your butt off to pay that insurance bill and pray you don't lose your job!
It is a sad fact that if you are a poor american and you get very ill, you can lose everything you have including your LIFE!! Something is definately wrong with this picture. I should not have to die because I cannot afford treatment.

I am tired of paying (as an independent contractor) over 1000 bucks a month to a high deductible PPO so I can see the doctors I know, I refuse to be left to 'mother may I' HMO devices.

Go compare their results to nationalized health care. Canada's Prostate cancer cure rate: 19%
US cure rate: 26%
What is the value of healthcare if it doesn't help your health? Do we need to group purchases? Yes. Do we need tort reform? Yes. Do we need to buy illegal aliens healthcare? No.
Number of people who can afford healthcare but refuse to buy it: 12 million.
Before you look to a magic wand, see who gets the short end of it.
And another thing Lisa. I had to go to the emergency room a couple of years ago for a minor heart condition. It was on a Sunday and was a true emergency (A-fib). I had to wait about 2 hours to get treatment. Why? Because there were about 20 mexican families ahead of me wanting treatment for their diapered children with the sniffles. There was a flu going around at the time. Why wasn't there a perportional amount of races in the emergency room? Guess!
PS I was the only 'wetto' in there besides the doctor.

The sad fact is the poor around the world die at a higher rate than Americans. I love the way Europe celebrates their socialized medicine. It is working now, but it is also slowing bleeding their countries white because of the high taxes and inefficiency associated with them. France has free medicine without jobs, over 8% unemployment for the last quarter-century. No wonder France's GDP has dropped from 7th in the world to 17th in the last 25 years, socialized medicine.
I love people that pull-up to McDonald's and buy all their obese kids happy meals and then belly-ache because medicine is so expensive. Medicine needs to get more and more expensive until people begin to realize that their personal habits are the problem and not the American medical system.
Eat an apple and then go for a walk instead of driving to Carl's Jr. for a burger, fries, and shake.

Mr. Obese Michael Moore berates the American medical system? I guess he realizes the expense of his angioplasty and diabetes medications are going to cut into his retirement income.
I don't like medical reports from a fat pig anymore than I like going to a dentist who has teeth missing. I guess Michael never heard the lyric from the 60's song, 'I'll be damned if you'll tell me how to run my life when you can't run your own.' He will be dead in a decade and his last film will blame the American medical establishment instead of his own fat-body lifestyle.
It seems to me that the persons critical to Michael Moore inevtably use idiotic arguments to oppose him .The fact that he is fat has absolutely no relevance for his arguments .It only shows the lack of logical thinking from his opponents .It is called character murder .THe kind of arguments one propose when one has not enough cognitive reasononig to propose a decent counterargument.Same kind of remark for anybody trying to use immigrants as a reason to opose reform of the lealth system .
Life expectancy and standards of medical care vary a lot according to the social class one is part of in the USA .Is there anybody realy thinking the lower classes enjoy the same standards of treatment?I dont think so .
So to all the critics of a decent health ssystem I ask ;How come we can enjoy it here in Europe and still havr the same treatments for everybody,with the same rate of success ,we also have excellent standards of education,higher than in the USA ,most european countries have higher standards of living than the USA ,realy sorry to say so .Hopefully soon youtr entire population will not be covered anymore by private companies which have only one goal :making maximum profits.I guess you all know how that is done,dont you ?
Once you enjoy a civilized version of social security then you will be more free ,free of worrying how to care for your children and parents ,the elderly,the handicapped .To me it is a task for every human being to contribute to the wellbeing of your fellow humans ,especially if the course of life has lead them to poverty or desease .Isn't that also what your religion should have thaught you ?

Cure rates are meaningless when no one can afford medical insurance. SP4 is about as clueless as it gets.

he can use his wealth to help the uninsured (not by making a doc. about it). The healthcare system has been an issue for years and he is just now noticing this? When it costs more to have a child in the hospital with insurance than it does to have it home without then there is something wrong. This is a DUH! issue. He is about 10 years behind.

The open border is the problem people. Haven't you been listening? How can a business survive when they are by law, suppose to take customers (yes mexicans)they have to pay for and then pass on the cost to us who pay for insurance. That's why the system isn't working. It's not because it's bad or unfair it's just being undermined. It's so simple to understand. Implement the laws that are on the books already and things will get better.

My point was, why does he even care about this issue. It in no way affects
him and his healthcare. I wasn't even saying it is up to the rich. My point was that I have known the healthcare system is screwed up for years. Those who are just now seeing it have been blind. I blame the government for not regulating cost of healthcare and insurance company rates. All he is doing is profiting again off the troubles of others. I don't like him in the least. I do agree with what he is saying just not how he goes about telling people.
