Avril Lavigne has posed topless for a US magazine.
The 22-year-old singer appears on the front cover of Blender's June edition with her arms above her head in just a pair of black jeans with only the headline 'Hell Yeah, I'm Hot!' protecting her modesty.
The photo spread inside, which appears under the tag line 'Wild Thing', shows Avril wearing a short leather skirt, fishnet stockings and an open leather jacket posing with a bottle of whisky and a cigar.
The pictures are adorned with the quotes: "I used to drink like a motherf***er, but I'm more mature now."
And: "I'm very driven. I'm the kind of person who doesn't take no for an answer."
In another photograph, Avril - who is married to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley - sits with her legs pulled up looking down demurely in a cream mac, patent black stilettos and stockings.
Avril's latest photo shoot could be interpreted as hypocritical, following her scathing remarks about Britney Spears using her sexuality to sell records.
The 'Girlfriend' singer said: "I'm more about a performance, she's more about entertainment and sex, being a sex symbol and trying to look like she's having sex."

Either someone has gotten to the poor girl's head or she feels she has used up her talent - which a deaf person can enjoy, hint - who needs to sing if you look at me like that? and resorted to lowest common denominator tactics to extend her 15 minutes of fame for what? another five minutes? Either way a pity. And now, I won't have a peek at the pics much as I like the girl's acting stints. All 2-dimensional look the same, pretty much. Better to develop some character than slide into the gutter. Glamor ain't all, heck it is hardly nothing at all.

I guess it is still the job of some 'news' writer to schlep for sales of the print mags or some such.

if Avril doesn't have enough confidence in her singing ability that she has to resort to this tough stance she always shows - just probably for shock value - too bad, it makes her look cheap and always rebellious with a giant chip on her shoulder!
