Norah Jones' Jude fear

Norah Jones was scared stiff of kissing Jude Law.

The 'Come Away with Me' singer was so nervous about locking lips with her British co-star in 'My Blueberry Nights' she lost control of her voice.

Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday (16.05.07), she said: "I was nervous and excited at the same time. The director asked me to do it and I went into it totally blind. As soon as I saw the cast list I thought, 'What am I doing?' It was very real.

"But on the second day Jude came in and he was really encouraging. On my first take with him my voice was really high. We had to do the kissing scene and from that moment the director, Kar Wai Wong, was so excited. He made us shoot the kiss for a long time."

Norah - who makes her acting debut in the movie playing a character who embarks on a soul-searching journey across the US - has also revealed she was inspired by Jude because he is so down to earth, despite his fame and fortune.

The Grammy-award winner said: "I learned a lot from working with Jude, especially the way he deals with all the attention.

"Every day there would be paparazzi following him from the trailer to the set, but he lives his life as if none of that exists.

"He showed me that you can stay normal despite all the madness around you."

'My Blueberry Nights', directed by Chinese filmmaker Kar Wai Wong, also stars Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz and Tim Roth.

It is set for release in June 2007.
