"TV just became really, really white again," he said to the Los Angeles Times. ABC, according to George, "unceremoniously" canceled his eponymous comedy, which over the years chronicled his own life from his tough childhood growing up with an rotten grandmother, to his health issues."The George Lopez Show" will make syndication, but that's not a salve for a hurting Lopez.Lopez told the LAT that Steve McPherson, ABC president of prime-time entertainment, "called him over the weekend to explain that 'financially' it wasn't working out, that the network would lose money if it picked up the show again."Lopez cited constant time slot shuffling and being pitted against American Idol as more reasons to prove the network's ambivalence.Lopez also noted to the LAT that his show "out-performed two freshman comedies that were renewed: 'Notes from the Underbelly' and 'Knights of Prosperity.' ""I’ll take the good and the bad," Lopez said. "I took the five years of good and I did a lot with the good. My popularity, I was involved in charities, I overcame my illness, all on TV. I shared all of that with America—every secret I had. Every personal feeling. Every emotion. Everything was open to the show. And what happens?"Lopez also blamed the fact the show was not "owned" by ABC Television Studios. Lopez also had choice words over the "Caveman" series about two brothers and one best friend, described as sophisticated cave dudes living in modern-day Atlanta."I get kicked out for a...caveman and shows that I out-performed because I’m not owned by [ABC Television Studios]...So a...Chicano can’t be on TV but a...caveman can?" Lopez said. "And a Chicano with an audience already? You know when you get in this that shows do not last forever, but this was an important show and to go unceremoniously like this hurts. One hundred seventy people lost their jobs."

George, get a clue. If TV is so 'white,' how do you explain Ugly Betty that is also on ABC? Could it be that Ugly Betty gets ratings and is entertaining to alot of people? I would like to see a 'white' (whatever that means?) comedian make such outrageous charges. George, I hope the Cavemen kill in the ratings. So long, funny man!

when i saw cavemen was going to be a tv show i seriously thought it was another commercial. I say the show gets dropped within the first 3 weeks.

the worst idea ever.

george lopez was pretty good.

what other family shows are out there?
like with an actually family as the sitcom, haven't really seen one of those around in a couple of years, and ABC killed one of the last ones, and of course race is going to play a factor.

I say the show gets picked up again by a different network or ABC within the next couple of years.I would love for that to happen, b/c when it does the ratings are going to skyrocket, especially with all the caveman ripping that would go on.

so how many hispanic shows are we down to now on public US tv?
like none.

oh one day, hopefully one day the wave of hispanic shows will come.

and the people who are thinking in their head, oh thats not going to happen.

remember all the black shows that were on at once?
sanford and son, good times, the cosby show, fresh prince of bel-air, family matters, the jeffersons...they all weren't on at the same time, but you get the idea.

thats what he means by tv going all white, there aren't anymore of these shows on public television, black or hispanic.

now most black television is on the CW. instead of being on public television - NBC, ABC, CBS, and FOX.

I wasn't alive when good times was on, but that was a damn good show.
people now won't even dare to make a show like that.

Lopez was just trying to keep on good tv and especially for the hispanic community.
its ok though cause my local NBC shows reruns twice a day and its constantly on nick at night.
