Paris Hilton is "traumatised" and "distraught", according to her psychiatrist.
The blonde hotel heiress, who is facing an order to testify in a $10 million civil suit against her, is not capable of taking part in the trial claims Dr. Charles Sophy.
Sophy insists Paris needs to recover from the shock of receiving a 45-day jail sentence, after violating her probation by driving with a suspended licence.
The psychiatric report said: "Given Miss Hilton's current psychological and emotional state she is not capable of any meaningful participation in a trial.
"She is emotionally distraught and traumatised as a consequence of the findings at the May 4 hearing, the jail sentence imposed upon her by the judge, and her fear of incarceration."
Papers filed by Paris' lawyers reveal the 26-year-old has received treatment from Sophy for eight months, and has visited the psychiatrist several times since her probation violation hearing.
The slander and libel suit, filed against Paris by actress Zeta Graff, is due to begin on May 21.
Graff claims she was falsely accused by Paris of stalking the socialite and her ex-lover Paris Latsis - who Graff previously dated. Graff has accused Paris of spreading "vicious lies" about her which appeared in the New York Post newspaper in July 2005.
A representative for Paris has declined to comment on the psychiatric report.

She has the money to hire anyone to do anything for her - even think - so she will get her way out of whatever she desires. And if the majority of the public has their way, she will just fade into the sunset, never to be seen or heard from again!!!!
She broke the law and she deserves the punishment. If it were anyone else that did what she did they would have been in jail already. She's spoilt, thinks she's above the law and is in shock that she's being punished for it. I wonder what all you so called 'Paris supporters' would have been saying had she killed someone with her reckless driving tactics. She deserves the punishment, she brought it upon herself. As for being an 'inspiration'. What has she really ever done that made her an inspiration? She's a pretty blonde who likes to dress up, get photographed and party. Please, she hasn't done a single inspirational thing unless perhaps she's inspired you to change your hair style. Get real people, no one is above the law and if you can't do the time then don't do the crime.
