Isla Fisher says Los Angeles is like "Mars".
The 'Wedding Crashers' actress, who is engaged to 'Borat...' star Sacha Baron Cohen, felt like she was on another planet when she first arrived in Hollywood.
Isla said: "The first audition I did was for 'Scooby-Doo', they flew me first class to Los Angeles. I stayed at the Mondrian hotel and everyone was driving SUVs!
"I'd never been to Los Angeles before and there was this incredibly trendy bar with all these extraordinarily trendy people. I thought, 'Where am I? I've landed on Mars!' "
Despite her Tinseltown concerns, the 31-year-old flame-haired actress was saved from a dire financial situation by 'Scooby-Doo'.
Isla - who stars opposite 'American Pie' actor Jason Biggs in upcoming movie 'Wedding Daze' - explained: "At the time, I could barely pay my rent, and I couldn't even get a TV commercial. Then I got the job and the rest is history."
