Bruce Willis refused to smoke in the new 'Die Hard' movie, because he didn't want children to think it was cool.
The 52-year-old actor - whose character, maverick cop John McClane, smoked in the previous three movies - felt a moral obligation to drop the habit for the impressionable PG-13 audience who may go and see 'Live Free or Die Hard'.
He said in a magazine interview: "It's just a nasty habit. I didn't want to feel responsible for any kid smoking to try to look cool because he thought I looked cool doing it."
Willis, 52, recently admitted he struggled with the dangerous stunts on the new movie, and doesn't think he would have been able to star in the film a few years down the line.
He said: "A lot of the physical stuff that they had me doing was still, let's say, low-tech. I don't bounce as well off the concrete floors as I used to. There are those 'ouch' moments that actually hurt. It gets really un-fun on take two you know? You hope they got it in take one. I'm glad I didn't wait a couple more years to do this."
