Sheryl Crowe adopts baby boy

I just have this to say: These movie stars adopt babies like they are just another acquisition to add to their belongings. It's become popular for celebrities, with husbands, without husbands, with boyfriends, with girlfriends, whatever...to adopt babies never stopping to think that these babies don't have a say and will never know what it is to have 'parents: a mother and a father'.

And don't tell me one parent is better than none, there is a waiting list for the adoption of babies...it's the older children with issues that no one wants to adopt. If these women would adopt young boys and girls or teenagers and help them deal with their issues, I would not feel so negatively about the adoption because at least the adopted girl or boy could voice their preference.

Single parenting is never the preferred way to raise a child.

Wow...I understand some of what you are saying but...geesh, the woman just beat cancer, has a wonderful career where she can be a mom without having to go to work everyday, pay for a sitter, work her hiney off just to put food on the table. As a newly single mother (I was married, after the birth of my first child) who is in the midst of working an 11 day week at two jobs to support her children, I can honestly say that I can give them as much love or even more than when I was part of a two parent family. If a person has the chance to take a child in that someone did not want...don't sweat it. The thing that bothers me more is people who adopt from other countries only as if we do not have enough unwanted, poor, needy children in our own countries that have been through a hell of their own. Let our children be loved, whether it be by a single mother, single father, gay couple, straight couple, biracial couple....we are all people capable of loving...lets show that love and give Sheryl our support. Congratulations Sheryl.
