Lindsay Lohan has described sometime rival Paris Hilton's 45-day jail sentence as "terrible".
The 'Georgia Rule' actress - who has been both a friend and rival to the hotel heiress - does not believe Paris' punishment for driving with a suspended licence is fair.
When questioned about the matter, Lindsay said: "It's terrible."
The 20-year-old also denied she and Paris ever fought in a nightclub, as was reported late last year.
Meanwhile, Paris - who was photographed driving her car this week after receiving the jail sentence - has released a statement saying she is prepared to face the consequences of her actions.
Paris said: "I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation.
"I do not expect to be treated better than anyone else who violated probation. However, my hope is that I will not be treated worse."
"I feel the need to correct what I believe are misperceptions about me. I absolutely realise how serious driving under the influence is. I could not live with myself if anyone was injured or killed while I was driving while impaired. Clearly, no one should — no matter how slightly."

Bo hoo hoo. Paris must serve 45 days in jail. Why should she be any different that you or I for driving without a valid license? And surely they have a jail cell for her at the Ritz Carlton in Beverly Hills where she could do her time at no inconvenience to herself. Are we happy to support Paris in jail? Of course we are. Maybe this little interlude of humility will make her think (something new for Paris) about being a better role model for girls that look up to her instead of just another stupid bad girl destined to fail. Pass me another Kleenex. please.
Actually Paris CAN be a role model for young girls as well as Britney and Lindsey - a constant reminder for girls what not to be like, if parents would just keep pointing that out.
Listen, a little jail time was an inconvenience for poor Martha Stewart too! After an extended stint in the slammer, she's more visible than ever, her greedy indescretion and 'holier than thou' attitude behind her. Let's hope that Paris uses her 45 days behind bars to reflect on her life, then grow up. Maybe she can transform her 'good fortunes' into future good deeds so she may make valuable contributions to society in her adult years and become a true role model, worthy of admiration.
At least Martha Stewart had intelligence - if you don't have it, you aren't going to 'learn' it!!
Paris an Lindsay both have their own demons to fight, and it is theirs to fight. Between the two of them, Lindsay has much more potential to walk the straight path, but she teeters so frequently onto the wrong one. If she can control that hot temper of hers, then she would be okay. She's very talented and has all the attributes of being a great actresss in the future, but everytime's she's late, every time she gets angry and cops and attitutde, it makes her seem uglier and uglier and less professional. If she keeps it up, there will come a point when no one will want to work with her. She's got so much talent. She doesn't need to waste it on attitude. All the hype, paparazzi and clebrity is overwhelming her. Everyone is in her face every second of the day and it makes her combative. She'll have to fiure out a way to draw attention away from her.
