Phil Spector Trial: An Uzi, 'icky' sex and 'demonic' testimony

Yet another woman has testified that Phil Spector tormented her with a gun, saying the music producer suddenly turned "demonic" after a party 18 years ago and tried to rape her, according to the AP.
Witness Dianne Ogden, a music talent coordinator, testified Monday that Spector flipped his personality as she tried to leave Spector's mansion in Pasadena after a party back in 1989.
"He was screaming at me, the F-word," she said. "He wasn't my Phil, not the man I loved. It wasn't him. He was demonic. It scared the hell out of me."
The prosecution is building their case against Spector by calling witnesses that paint a picture of the legendary and eccentric producer who underwent Jekyll and Hyde personality switches, threatening women with guns.
"Did he try to be intimate?" asked Deputy District Attorney Pat Dixon asked Ogden.
"Yes he did," she said. "He did it by gunpoint. He wanted to rape me." Odgen elaborated and described the near sexual encounter as "icky."
The AP reported that Ogden made it clear to the court that she was only testifying because of a subpoenaed.
On and off communication with Spector was capped by a visit with friends to his home, where according to Ogden: "Phillip from behind me said, 'You're not going anywhere.' He said, 'I have an Uzi with me and I'm going to kill you.'
"I said, 'Phillip don't do this to me again. You've been drinking.'"
Ogden told the court Spector had an Uzi in his hand but she jumped into her car and gunned the engine.
"I went flying out of there," she said.
"He was running after me with the Uzi. He was yelling the whole time," she said.
Ogden never filed a formal complaint or police report, according to the AP.
Defense attorney Bruce Cutler "yelled" at Ogden and suggested she embellished her story. Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler admonished him repeatedly against yelling and pointing at the witness and making statements instead of asking questions, according to the AP.
Spector pioneered the "Wall of Sound" recording technique that defined many groups and classic hit songs from the 60's.

Yes, I am a Boomer. And my memory is impeccable. I tell you, this is not the first time Mr. Spector (perfect name, huh?) has been mixed up in demonics or death. He was mixed up in the Berkowitz East Coast/West Coast Son of Sam story; he was also peripheral to 2 other stories.

If you want to hear a very good radio program on this... head to coast to coast AM and go to Ian Punnet's past shows (not Art or George's shows.) I couldn't have cared less about the Spektor trial until I heard that program. If you have the time... it won't be wasted.
What a pathetic man...maybe a musical genius, but still a sorry example of a human being.
A great studio and sound man, perhaps the best ever. Unfortunately he began life with mental frailties. Then the money, drugs, booze, guns and etceteras just took him down, making a weak and eccentric personality surrender to insanity. He is insane and should be institutionalized for the rest of his days, before paranoia mixed with guns equals a lot of dead people.
The guy is a pyschopath....he and Paris would actually be a perfect match. Compared to those two, I like my normal, middleclass, Jane Doe existence.
I agree with dmat fully. There are worse things than being bored. Had a friend like this idjit. Got rid of him and lived happily ever after, never to be bothered again after he left a phone message just like Spector's. Wow, I wonder how many women have experienced the same type of male and not reported the incident? Mine was reported in 1992 after he jumped on my back and I screamed for 30 minutes at the top of my lungs, he thought that was funny and screamed also and when the neigbors called the police and they arrived, the police just told me they were unable to do anything about him. They told him he would cause them to come back. I told him he had to go. This is a long story cut short.

I wrote a song about individuals like Spector...It's called 'Celebrity Killers'.
I shouldn't be surprising, really. Just another psychotic asshat with too much money. It sounds like his attorney is grasping for straws. I think they should be both be buried alive with just thier heads above ground and then have Ronnie Spector come kick the crap out of them for a few years.
