Why wasn't someone driving her? She certainly had no need to be behind the wheel. You can't really expect a brainless commodity to act like a grown-up. Some responsible adult should be managing the franchise here.

I understand that some could feel that it might be better if Hilton was given house arrest and a huge fine, but then she wouldn't learn anything. Nothing at all. No matter how big the fine was, it wouldn't be punitive, because for that family, money is no object. Also, staying home in a mansion, or penthouse apartment with every possible amenity is not punishment. Her family would pay anything to keep her out of jail. And that's part of the problem that these people have to deal with. Money can't (or shouldn't) be able to buy everything. Who would argue that some poor person living in the projects should be sentenced to house arrest and a fine(even if the fine was relative to this/her earnings, and his/her apartment was lousy) for his/her DUI? The easiest that she should get off is to be seperated from the general population. This girl lives in the real world (though she doesn't act like it), and she acts like she is above our laws. She cannot be allowed to be. The judge did the right thing, and he/she should becommended for the decision. It has the benefit of sending the appropriate message to others who also feel above the law.

I am deeply disappointed in you, Elliot. This is the man who also represented John Lennon and Bob Dylan, the guy who did the 'Lost Lennon Tapes' on radio- what the heck are you doing slumming around with Paris Hilton? Isn't that a form of prostitution? Be glad you're done with her, now's the time to try and buy back your soul.

What were you trying to say, when you wrote this run on sentance?

You need to find god. Release yourself of the hate you hold inside your heart.

Paris should stop whining. The same punishment would be handed down to anyone who violates the conditions of their probation. Good for the judge who followed the law!

How can all of you people write such serious essays here? It's time for outlandish satire everyone. You've got your assignment, now let's have your best. This toe-headed, Poozle Unit doesn't merit serious discourse.

Btw the jails in LA County are so overcrowded that they RELEASE IMMEDIATELY anyone with less than a 90-day sentence so SORRY all you people who hope that she gets beat up raped etc... she won't spend 1 minute in a jail cell (even if this sentence isn't overturned which it surely will be).

Surely you guys realize she's not going to a normal jail. California has 'pay-to-stay' jails where she can serve her sentence in a much nicer than normal cell - its only about $100 per day. She will have to sleep in the (private) cell every night - but she can have her cell phone and laptop, and order out what food she wants. She will also be let out of the cell each day for 'work' release - the general expectation in CA is that a person in jail for a short (less than one year) sentence spends 12 hours per day in the cell and 12 out. This is only if they have money, of course. The private jails are hugely profitable for the counties that have them. She will have her own entrance/exit from the cell, etc.

She is a poor excuse of a human being, and they should throw her Mom and Dad in jail with her. Any person that thinks she is a role model or cares two licks about her, is just a sad little person. Grow up people, stop caring more about Hollywood celebs than the real issues going on in this country and the world.

Oh poor little heiressMay 7th, 2007 - 17:53:42

Maybe now the little b!tch princess with finally grow up and out of her (uppity diaper) and realize that there's a real world out there. She needs to learn how to do some things for herself and not trust the people around her. A few more lessons like this might make her a real person, without mommy and daddy to run to her side.

It's a waste of taxpayer money to keep her incarcerated. Corporal punishment would be the ideal solution here. A good old Signapore caning, or perhaps a Mediterranean-style bastinado. Then sell the video and put the proceeds into schools.

Good idea 'Profane'. How about sending Paris to summer camp and Alex Baldwin can be her personal counselor!

They should just spank her bare ass out in public and be done with it (just like in the old days). It would make a great movie to watch on YouTube.

Hey- I_M_Profane,

I actually do see your point about caning, but... In Hilton's case it'd probably be considered fetish porn and she'd end up making a gazillion dollars off of it in the long run. Sigh...
