Kirsten Dunst isn't worried about upsetting Blondie fans by playing Debbie Harry in a movie of her life.
The 'Spider-Man 3' actress insists anyone who has a problem with her playing the iconic singer can blame Debbie herself, because she picked Kirsten for the part.
Kirsten said in an interview with Marie Claire magazine: "Deborah Harry picked me, so anybody who doesn't like the choice can blame her. I know I can do it. People haven't seen all of me yet.
"I'm sure some people are like, 'What the f**k?'"
Kirsten, 25, has been signed up by director Michael Gondry to play the lead role in the as yet untitled movie.
It is not the first time the pair have worked together.
Gondry previously directed Kirsten when she appeared in 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'.
Kirsten will sing in the movie, which documents the life of Debbie, now 61, from her humble beginnings to her band Blondie's worldwide superstardom in the 70s.
