Overheard backstage in Oscar De La Hoya's dressing room at the MGM Grand, comic George Lopez offered words of comfort to the Golden Boy. "When Mervyns (retail store in L.A.) turned me down for a credit card, that was a bad decision, but this is really a bad decision," quipped Lopez to the Los Angeles Times reporter. But not George Lopez. The comic is on a whirlwind tour of stand up dates, and has some opinions about everything.Recently in Dallas, "Orale Dallas! Orale Raza!" he begins his set with texting acronyms – like OMG ("Oh my God") and LOL ("Laughing out loud"). Then he quickly moved to his own FTP (profanity alert) applying it to George Bush, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the California Governor who Lopez rails "That guy wants English only? He can't even speak English!" and green warrior Al Gore.Lopez has riffed on Gore before, and in one of his numerous HBO specials has said Mexicans were "the first to put 13 people in a car," but despite their economies with gas they aren't too concerned with global warming."You'll never see a Mexican drive a Prius," say Lopez in his routine. "A car that don't make no noise just ain't Mexican."
