Amy Winehouse kept her former flatmate awake by banging her head against her bedroom wall.
The 'Rehab' singer moved in with her primary school friend Juliette Ashby as soon as she signed her first record deal.
Juliette said: "Amy's a nutcase, but she's a good person. I worry for her a lot.
"There have been nights when I've been in bed and I've heard this banging sound and it was Amy banging her head against the wall."
Amy insisted: "I don't do that so much these days."
The pair are so close Amy has even written a song about their friendship.
She said: "I've got a song called 'Best Friends' that's about the time we first lived together.
"It's like I hate you, but I love you. The tempestuous times have had the effect of making us closer."
