Johnny Depp wanted to be Evel Knievel when he was younger.
The actor longed to be many things when he was growing up - including the legendary daredevil motorcyclist.
Johnny revealed: "When I was a kid, I had a lot of dreams. I wanted to be everything from Evel Knievel to the first white Harlem Globetrotter, and I'm still trying! Then I wanted to play the guitar, and now I'm here, doing this, acting."
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star thinks it is a "miracle" he is still working in Hollywood, and admits he always thought he would have gone back to working as a petrol pump attendant by now.
Johnny, 43, explained: "To be honest I never even expected it to last this long. I always expected to go back to play guitar or pumping gas long before now. It could still happen!
"It's a miracle that I still get jobs!"

Its not Johnny, its DISNEY...they OWN the image and can do whatever they want to do with it, and their bottom line is going to be the almighty dollar.
I read that he picked out the pictures himself and thought it was 'fun'. Kinda disappointing.
I hate to tell you folks, it's called marketing, business, and making money. It is no different than a star athelete showing up on a box of Wheaties. As far as I am concerned Johnny can show up on anything he wants, I like seeing his face. You go Johnny, you rock.
Amen to THAT Crystal! I'll look at him all I can too!
Oh, don't think I don't enjoy looking at Johnny Depp. The man is gorgeous. I just wish he'd kept his art pure and not gone commercial. I KNOW it's unavoidable in this day and age and he has the right to enjoy his success. But I think of Bill Watterson--creator of Calvin and Hobbes--and how he never authorized any merchandizing of his characters or ideas. He kept it pure.
It is my understanding that he doesn't mind the marketing for 'Pirates' because they are marketing a character, not Johnny himself. He is also happy that his children can enjoy his work. Captain Jack Sparrow is just a character, they are not just putting pictures of Johnny as himself on the products.

I can't believe Johnny Depp has jumped the shark and is now appearing on cereal boxes and kid snack boxes. Talk about a sell-out!
