Hugh Grant's bean arrested

Hugh Grant has been arrested for allegedly attacking a photographer with a tub of baked beans.
Photographer Ian Whittaker claims the 'Music and Lyrics' star kicked him before hurling the beans at him on Tuesday (24.04.07).
London's Metropolitan Police confirmed today (26.04.07) a 46-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault and has now been released on bail.
Grant's lawyers confirmed an incident is now under investigation.
The 'Love Actually' star voluntarily handed himself in at London's Notting Hill police station yesterday (25.04.07) where he was arrested and questioned for half an hour.
He was bailed and has agreed to return for further questioning last month.
Grant, who was walking near his West London home at 10am on Tuesday, lashed out when Whittaker asked if he could take his picture.
The 43-year-old photographer alleges the actor kicked him three times and kneed him near the groin.
Whittaker said: "It looked like he had been out for a morning jog. I asked him if he would give me a smile because he was standing with his head down. But he must have been having a bad day because he started chasing me down the street.
"He gave me a couple of kicks in the legs and I think he kneed me."
He then described how Grant picked up a takeaway container full of beans and threw it at him.
The photographer also claimed the 'About A Boy' star - who recently split from his girlfriend Jemima Khan - launched into a tirade of abuse aimed at his children.
Whittaker said: "When I told him I had two children, he snarled, 'I hope they die of f***ing cancer'.
"That really upset me and is why I went to the police to make a complaint of assault against him. He was out of order."

I'm interested how to know how 'He was bailed and has agreed to return for further questioning last month.'
Where the did the tin of beans come from after he had already chased him down the street? Nike's and bake beans - the alternative IPOD add-on.
Yeah Baked Beans don't usually go with jogging. Also if the actor started off so surly why the question about how many kids the photographer had?
More to the story no doubt.
But then it does make a nice diversion -- baked bean assault kinda breaks up all the doom and gloom -- thanks Hugh for doing what you do best - entertaining!
whats the big deal. A tin of baked beans would surely be better than a tin of chilli beans??????

What man would admit to being assaulted by hugh Grant with a tub of baked beans? If Hugh Grant came after me with beans he would have eaten them all including the container that held them. Hugh Grant...the only thing he assaults is masculinity.
