' The US government is now worse than the soviets were '
Please , that is ridiculous .
' If we did not need to import oil we could tell the middle east to beat it ' Screw them ? Let them burn ? What is wrong with giving them the money that they desperately need for development in exchange for them giving us oil ?
'we are all such cowards and simpletons ' I agree , you are an idiot . Do the world a favour and put a bullet in your head . Oh wait , let me guess you do not include yourself , it is ' them ' ' they ' that are the ' cowards and simpletons ' .
' Our country has steadily declined in our economic prowess and inventiveness since ' Do you smoke a lot of crack ? ' ' steadily declined ' for the last 30 years ? So we are a 3rd world country now ?
I guess you are right , you are a ' simpleton ' .
Islam is what it is. The radicals are the true Islam! Pick up the Koran and see for yourselves. The Koran was written word for word by there evil god so it can never be reformed as their GOD is 'perfect'. On the other hand the bible is an 'inspired' work of God by humans which allows it to be reformed from early human conditions. Also, no other mainstream religion advocates killing humans and glorify death like Islam. Islam has no respect for God's gift of human life. We see it every day in the middle east. Islamist 'love death more than life' so they will continue killing themselves and innocents for their GOD.
Wake up people! There will be no peace on Earth until Islam is abolished!
The guys that perpetuated or perpetrated this falsehood were GENERALS! How did they think they were going to get away with it? These guys are from the 'New Army' that Tony Franks wrote about in his book. It makes you wonder about our military’s intelligence.
Jessica Lynch should've refused to accept her Bronze Star. She did nothing to warrant the award. She did not fire her weapon as it was so full of sand she could not chamber a round, nor did she attempt to, in some small way, satisfactorily participate in suppressing the enemy ambush. It is disgraceful to accept a combat award when she did not engage in combat, she was merely a bystander.
The US government has always lied to parents of soldiers KIA when the truth is inconvenient or embarrassing... It's just the way it's been..
Nowadays with the public access to information via the internet, the government should know better than to try and quash something as highly visible as Tillman getting KIA.
The current leadership of our country is shameful and I, for one, can't wait until we get someone else in there. Anyone will be better than Bush and his crooked cronies.
My heart goes out to Tillman's family. Him joining the service and leaving a lucrative NFL career spoke volumes about his character and his strong belief in doing what he thought was right. You raised your boy right.
God Bless.

i was at fort bliss with ms. lynch she was a slut and as for tillman do you honestly think special forces shot thier own? the truth is is that in the army there is a saying that there is no such thing as friendly fire. my bet is that tillman showed his buddies he couldnt be trusted so they took actions. thats the truth of war if you have quarrels then join the army or work in politics and change it dont just sit around typing complaints on the internet. my bet is you are all stupid, media brainwashed minimum wage liberals.
Are You kidding me! Are there really people like you still out there. You sir are what is wrong with our country. How dare yo sit behind your computer, disrespect a women who fought for her country was sexually abused and then used as a propaganda tool, and to add to that u blame the men for killing him because he can not be trusted....Did you take your meds today!
I can not believe that that was even allowed to be posted.

Response to Kevin Cormier's ridiculous comments
'I was at Fort Bliss with Ms Lynch she was a slut'
Ok, and that negates her injuries and sexual assault and her story? Come on. Throwing around random personal attacks doesn't prove anything except that you're an idiot.
'My bet is that Tillman showed his buddies he couldn't be trusted and they took actions'
So you're saying it wasn't friendly fire it was murder? And that to you is a more believable story?
It doesn't matter if this entire page is full of 'minimum-wage liberal' comments, the truth is that those comments are backed by numbers and facts. Your comments on the other hand are full of meaningless judgments and conspiracy theories...
Americans = cowards/liars/cheaters/destroyers...take your pick...all are accurate
As it turns out, Jessica Lynch is a hero. A hero for truth. Only a bone-headed conservative could believe in the crap our Gov't dreams up anyway.
Bush and his crowd lie (literally) at the heart of all these troubles. It's time for him to go. Visit impeachhimDOTorg
Both Pat Tillman and Jessica Lynch ARE real heros. In Jessica's case, it's not uncommon for real heros to deny that their own actions were heroic, and to deflect credit to others. Jessica is a hero for serving her country, for her bearing in captivity while gravely injured, for calling out, 'I'm an American soldier.' Jessica came from the most ordinary of American families, to whom we are greatly and forever indebted.
Pat is a hero for simply showing up, for volunteering to serve our country. The fact that Pat's volunteering was at great personal financial expense is significant, but it was the basic act of volunteering, of ultimately giving his life for our country, that makes his actions the equal of Jessica's.
I try to understand the grieving of Pat Tillman's family. I know that anger is a phase of grief, and that that might be particularly true if your son or brother died of friendly fire.
I have had the honor of meeting many families who have lost their sons or daughters in Iraq or Afghanistan. A few are against the war and see their son's or daughter's death as evidence of a misguided policy. But I must tell you of the great majority, that they are proud of their son's or daughter's military service. I find some confusion about America's goals, particularly in Iraq, but most families want to believe that their son or daughter died for an important cause important to our nation's interest. And finally, they do not want their son or daughter to have died in vain.
Henry Waxman's hearings are clearly intended to try to discredit the Bush administration. I believe that Waxman is primarily motivated by partisan politics, and I question whether his actions are supportive of most of the families, or of our troops serving in harm's way. They are not.
There is no such thing as friendly fire do you honestly think tillman didnt have radio contact with his own men. I served in iraq and i know what it takes to get shot by your own men and that is to be hated by them. as for lynch I just question her integrity because i knew her
Kevin Cormier, you are a fool. You call a wounded soldier a slut, and a person who gave up millions to fight for what he believed in unstrustworthy - and you do it because they and their familes don't think in lock-step with you. You were a soldier? Even you must realize you are in a bad way when you start to eat your own.
The Pat Tillman story is sad indeed. In addition to mis-reporting the accurate details of Pat Tillman's death, the the Army further demeans Pat Tillman's death by awarding him the Silver Star. For what? What Tillman did is only common on the battlefield. It desecrates the sanctity of the medal and all those who have gone before and been awarded the Silver Star.
From a USA Today Article coinciding with Lynch's book's release. It should also be noted that the very doctors Lynch sees as having risked their lives to save hers disputed her claims that she was sexually assualted while unconscious -- something she does not recall, but supsects.
'The episode was originally described in heroic terms, with Lynch battling fiercely and later being rescued under dire circumstances.
'But subsequently it was learned that Lynch never fired a shot because her rifle jammed. By the time U.S. forces arrived, the hospital was undefended. And Iraqi hospital staffers had earlier tried to sneak her to safety in an ambulance, but turned back when suspicious U.S. soldiers opened fire.
'In the book, Lynch admits she was no hero: 'I didn't kill nobody.' In the broadcast interview, ABC's Diane Sawyer asked her, 'Did you go down, like somebody said, (like) Rambo?' Lynch replied, 'No. No. I went down praying to my knees. And that's the last I remember.
'I did nothing,' she added. 'I mean, I was just there in that spot, you know — the wrong place, the wrong time.'
'Lynch also challenges the account of an Iraqi lawyer who says he saw her being slapped by military interrogators in the hospital.
'From the time I woke up in that hospital, no one beat me, no one slapped me... I mean, I actually had one nurse, that she would sing to me,' she told ABC. 'I'm so thankful for those people, because that's why I'm alive today.'
'In the book, Lynch describes how Iraqi doctors were branded 'traitors' by those loyal to Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein for helping her.'
What planet is Kevin from? He can apparently type. I wonder if he can read? Or better yet, I wonder what he reads?
People call this Bush's illegal war, they seem to forget that Congress voted to go to war. Top democrats like Clinton, Kennedy and Kerry said we had no choice. They also forget that we were attacked. The twin towers falling should be on the news everyday, so people won't forget.
Look, the military has always told families of victims of 'friendly fire' that their loved ones died honorably in combat.
It is simply an effort to avoid heaping more pain on their loss.
No one needs to hear, 'oh, yeah, and your loved one's death was a horrible mistake involving crossfire, misidentification, and the US soldier who shot your son feels absolutely terrible and is undergoing severe life-threatening depression for accidentally killing one of his own brothers-in-arms.'
The military didn't set out to make Tillman a recruiting poster, the media and the NFL chose to go all hero-worship with his death. So yeah, the military stuck to the 'killed in action' story. Once they were outed by the media, they said, ok, yes, it was friendly fire, and now look, sure enough the family feels even worse. They are sad, angry, disappointed, and they feel like their loved one's death was meaningless, evil, and a big mistake instead of feeling sad but proud of his service.
Thanks, America, for helping Tillman's family feel even worse about a tragedy, and encouraging them and everyone else to blame anybody and everybody other than the terrorists he was in Afghanistan to fight.
Yes, Afghanistan, you idiots, he was not in Iraq. He was in Afghanistan to fight the Taliban after 9-11.
Most of you chose simply to demonstrate your ignorance and insensitivity. Jerks.
Our poor country, we have so many useful idiots willing to side with whomever is doing us the most harm at any given moment.
I still support the original motive for the war, that Saddam was evil capable of using chemical weapons on his own people, and should be removed from power. I am glad that dictator is gone along with his sons and henchmen.
However, the Bush administration has screwed up again and again, the execution of strategy of this war, both from a military and from a foreign policy point of view.
We still don't have a viable exit strategy, and the administration is not articulating any plan for getting out. Rice, Rove, Cheeney, and Rumsfeld have really screwed this up and Bush can't figure out which one of his advisors to listen to.
Support is waning and people are making up good news when there isn't any. The American people should be told the truth regardless.
