Stone Martindale reports, re Jessica Lynch:

'Lynch, then an Army private, was terribly injured when her convoy was ambushed in Iraq. Rescued after being sexually assaulted and treated with sub-standard Iraqi medical care...'

Absolutely false. Check your facts.

I certainly checked facts and watched the entire live feed on CNN yesterday
-Jessica Lynch herself said to the congressional committee yesterday
she was sexually assaulted
and received a wrong bone insert from the Iraqi doctors who put a man's femur pole into her leg,
as a result of her sexual assault she STILL has bowel, kidney and other female problems -she didn't elaborate
Read the CNN transcripts of Lynch's own testimony.

When Bush was asked what he thought Bill Clinton's legacy was in 2000, Bush said it was Clinton's politics that Bush admired. Bush's rating was sinking fast after his 1st tax cut & Bush's team was dying for a way out... then came 9/11. It took his team 3 days to form a strategy, hence, he showed up at Ground Zero to declare unity. When our military failed to find & arrest Osama Bin Laden, Bush's rating sank again. Armed w/ pictures, BRITISH INTELLIGENCE REPORT, & assertions & hearsay Bush took us & his COALITION OF THE WILLINGS into a mad dash to Baghdad. With little prep. & much fanfare about how we liberated Iraq knowing very well that Sadam's armies were no match for our forces. Bush's team just needed a divertion, hence, they didn't plan on what to do after we invaded & occupied a soveing

Jessica Lynch wasn't my hero before; I'm not impressed by military people, the fact that they are often brainwashed and violent, etc. Obviously, there are lots of wonderful people serving in the military; I'm just saying that merely enlisting and being willing to carry a gun around someone else's country doesn't impress me. But she should be considered a hero now because being honest in the way that she is being honest is incredibly brave. If everyone who served overseas could admit the truth of their experiences I think we'd have even more insight into the real horrors of this 'war'

tb: Before you call Islam an 'evil and unhuman' religion, perhaps it would be wise to educate yourself on the religion first, no? After all, it is the fastest growing religion in the world and over 2.5 billion strong. I've read the entire english translation of the Qur'an and have never come across a single passage that would portray the Islamic relgion as an 'evil' of any sort.

I think the media makes everything into a full-blown circus. Why was every little thing about Jessica reported step by step for weeks/months??? It turns out that some things were true and some were not. Circumstances need to be checked before all the hoopla to begin with. Does the public need to be in on every breath that is taken?? The same thing goes for Tillman's death, and why do so many people agree to cover-ups?? As for some of the outrageous comments posted here......when someone uses poor language and has no idea how to spell, they just don't come off as someone to pay much attention to, besides the horrendous comments they make.

Jeeze, i started out offering a simple alternative view point. now i see how left the bowels of humanity gan get. i have been taking breaks from my job just to gross myself out with your immature hate speech. Listen UP!!!
1. I was at fort bliss in the 31st the same time as lynch. i am a nurse but in iraq i drove from baghdad to balad on missions where we received alot of fire i was a medic and even i had a wireless radio with an ear piece.
2. Even snipers travel in teams of two no one has told me why tillman was by himself.
3. Islam in not completely evil but shiites are majority evil. islam is the only religeon where large numbers of its members justify such violence and for you people who are trying to give history lessons here is the best one you will ever get.
-----Muhammad was a pagan and then dabbled in christianity, and judism before he started having his 'visons'. muhammad tried to spread his own form of religeon in mecca where he was cast out. if you havent noticed this is why islam has so many traits of christian and judism. then after being ousted he went to a smaller villages picking up people who would follow him and using them to help ambush roman supply convoys upon returning to mecca he killed everyone who wouldnt convert. i forgot what scripture in the bible talks about jesus killing infadels? im sorry but christians and buddists arent synonymous with suicide bombing or cutting womens tongues off for talking to other men. Islam is about oppression and has no structure this is why there are so many people using it for evil and so few using it for good. about the worst thing a christian preacher will do is have sex with a little boy but at least he wont tell his followers to strap bombs to little boys. i dont think the war is the best thing in the world but I think if we can help these evil people meet allah without killing as many innocents as they would with a suicide bomb then so be it

Sorry, but you are one of the worst. How about the way you described Jessica for one thing. It sounds like you've been everywhere - served with her, served in Iraq, been to the hurricane area, etc., and not in front of your computer very much???????????? Everyone's opinion deserves respect without being called 'stupid', etc. It's hard to believe Tillman was killed on purpose by his own men either. This Bush war is atrocious and is getting worse by the minute without, it seems, a plan on what to do, so we're going to continue to have these sad situations unless he listens to the public instead of his own bullheadedness. He is turning into a dictator!

Kevin said - 'i was a medic and even i had a wireless radio with an ear piece.'

WOW... next he'll be flying the next space shuttle mission!
WOW... you drove to Balad, well done! So has my wife and daughter......

Kevin, your views on Islam are are dumb as you sound! Have you ever studied Islam? Did you know that to be a Muslim means you accept that all Prophets were true and that includes them all going back to Adam including Jesus? I guess you didn't. I dont suppose you know anything about the crusades spreading christianity through wars either, or have you just decided not to remember that?

What do you know about Shia's (correct spelling!)?

Again probably nothing but what you see on whatever twisted media channel you tune into. Prove to us all why they are the most violent, show us the eveidence, and I don't mean the US government type of evidence which is largely made up as they go along (I am embarrased to say).

Have some respect for ypurself and actually get out there and look for the facts about all these things before you comment, true you are not the only one like this but you are the most vocal on here, hence you are the target for criticism.

And what about oppression? How on earth is Islam about oppression? What, don't tell me, it's because they cover their women? What would you prefer - your sister to be covered and remain modest or for her to be raped and abused by some lunatic because she or other women's provacative looks 'made him do it' because 'she was askign for it'....

Or is it the old 'women in Saudi are not allowed to drive' story? Look at this realistically and you'll see that this is more of a burden for the man than the woman!!! The husband / father then has to provide a car and driver for the wife / daughter / sister .... how many women here in the US would refuse their own car and driver if they were offered it?? How many of us would welcome the costs of having to provide it??

Don't be narrow minded Kevin! Open your eyes!!

Hi Kevin Cormier. To quote and respond to you, 'Islam islam is the only religeon where large numbers of its members justify such violence', so the Christian armies aren't marching around Iraq, sent by a President who regularly and sickeningly talks up his Christianity, while acting unlike one. And, since you mention history, should we mention the crusades? Or the Christian driven murder of Native Americans, south Americans (Spanish conquistadors), the missionary efforts in Africa, the Christian backed slave trade, the Christian massacre of pagans... should I go on? The stats will show that more people have died at Christian hands than any other in the current history of humanity, while all the biggest wars and attrocities were committed by Christians. Calling one religion evil is maybe what pisses other religions off, do you think? IMO there are few religions more evil in PRACTICE, rather than basis, than Christianity. But then, no doubt, i'm a lefty :D

Great. Nothing better than having religion brought into this discussion. That should clear everything up. I mean, if we can't come to a rational conclusion about each others beliefs, then goodness me we are at a loss.

If any of the zealots among us sincerely wish to engage in a holy war, then I might suggest a horse, a shield, and a time machine. For the rest of us operating in the 21st century, please let's ignore those who think the Moors are trying to steal the Grail.

Meanwhile, we still await the presentation of a fully conceived plan for victory in either Afghanistan or Iraq, while surrounded by little minds who think that the Jessica Lynch's and Pat Tillman's of this debacle are the real issue. The Republicans are utterly hopeless and the Democrats are less interested in solutions than they are in scoring political points. And the wars rage on...

Todd,

Anyone who knows the culture of both these areas, and has an ounce of honesty in themselves will tell you that the solution lies in discussion with ALL groups, and regional players and with some hard compromises on all sides... how likely is that?

Military action never works in these regions, never has, never will and will continue to breed contempt for as long as it carries on.

It's a basic human reaction, kill my family, I want to kill you, occupy my country, I will resist you. It's not politics, religion or anything else when you come down to the basic facts.

Nothing like having your brother besmirch your cause. Pat volunteered. He was killed as a soldier. Accidents happen in war. But to have your brother dishonor you is appalling by getting the likes of Henry Waxman to massage your anger for the loss of your brother against the United States...very sad indeed!

Accidents do happen in war but we try to learn from accidents so that the same accident doesn't happen again. Forty years ago, just about this time of year, I was involved in a friendly fire incident. Thankfully now one was severely wounded. The problem was identified and fixed. In this case the plane commander responsible was reduced to co-pilot and when that quickly turned out not to be sufficient, he was removed from flight status.

This friendly fire incident was very different. There was a concerted attempt to cover this one up and some very high-ranking officials covered it up. They made up a story about how he they did CPR on him. He’s been hit in the head by several M-16 rounds and was missing most of his head and as a result there was nothing to give CPR on. So, why was that done and who was behind it? How did they ever think they were ever going to get away with it? Pat Tillman’s brother Kevin was in the very same outfit just a few miles away. Initially they even tried to lie to him. What were they thinking? How were they thinking? Certainly not rationally. Were they under pressure from higher up? Had Pat Tillman’s Silver Star Mission already mission already been written up and he screwed up the script by getting killed?

I did not get a Silver Star but during my tour in Viet Nam, I ended up wih some medals. The process took months not days as happened in Pat Tillman’s case. When I heard he’d been killed and had been awarded the Silver Star in five days, I knew something was fishy. It just doesn’t happen that way.

We may not know in the short term but the truth will come out. The thing that bothers me is that it seems that many people don’t seem to want to hear the truth. They seem to want to live in make believe world where action heroes get killed but if you have been able to get the magic potion, he lives again. Are they embarrassed that they believed the lies that got us into this mess and feel compelled to keep believing even in the wake of overwhelming contrary evidence?

And Kevin, everything I’ve read said that there were other guys with him but he was the only one mortally wounded.

and I would like to add all this patriotic madness is not helping why cant people see that the Whole patriotic cloud is being used at a ticket to go kill childern and well just anyone,

And is every one forgetting the other people that where in Jessica Lynch Unit, like Shoshana Johnson shes female but oh shes African-American it wouldnt be the same story as a white blonde hair American,

Also the German Med/ reports jessica was raped,. i dont think this is true and just a extra Hype twist to the whole story,

Check out YouTube, for her video, Called, A conversation with Jessica Lynch

All in all its made a pay day for her,. and she hasnt really commented on what the Dr are saying happened,

But she has comfirmed the rescue story was propaganda.
