Hmm. how about the fact that your acting ability isn't strong enough to upstage some of the younger and more physically appealing actresses today.

Maybe that's why you're not working.

Nobody cares that you kissed Ellen. Most of us probably didn't even know it.

She looked pretty good in 'Jurassic Park' but running around in shorts and getting all sweaty can do that. Sometime's the jobs just aren't there -I haven't seen 'Frodo Baggins' in anything since LOTR. More young, fresh faces are coming up every month.

I read an interview with Dern years before the Degeneres kiss. She was talking about her work in David Lynch's WIld at Heart:

'You´re gonna be so scared by this movie. I went to Jupiter with this one,' she says happily over lunch at a restaurant near her apartment in a Los Angeles suburb. 'It was so much fun. That´s the other thing that´s scary. I went to Jupiter, and it is cool on Jupiter!'

Miss Dern was either a flake or stoned. It turned me off and I became absolutely neutral about her. I'll see one of her movies if it looks interesting, but I'm not interested in her offscreen.

She was never a draw. She is exactly where politically-active, older actors who made their names in independent art films usually end up. She should regret that interview.

Maybe she should have kissed Rosey?

Anyhoo...she sure did look good in Jurassic Park. Some Velocirapters have all the fun...

Laura's career was faltering before that.

However, her recent work in Year of the Dog is just great!

Laura is so right. It's just not safe to take a liberal point of view in Hollywood.

/sarcasm off

I remember seeing that 2-part episode, there was never a kiss! If they had, it was not included in the aired episode.

The two characters clicked but Laura's character was in a relationship so they never connected beyond the initial attraction.
