It's too bad that the issue of being environmentally responsible has idiots like this for it's spokespeople.

ben, speak for yourself you nuisance

'...so that us rich Americans...' unlike you must be (as you imply) i am not rich, was born - raised - and live next to a national forest and gaming forests in the appalachians, and like not having ring around the bum or a health-styming infection. if you have such a problem with toilet paper, why do you go out there and come up with a more renewable, biodegradable, and hygienic solution, until then i'll stick to angel soft or soft-n-gentle.

celebrities consume so much more than us everyday people and yet get on some arrogant high horse (like Al Gore driving his huge SUV warning about global warming while us real environmentalists simply live quietly and less obstrusively). if a vehicle doesn't get at least 22mpg, don't buy it. if you chop down a tree, plant a new one. grow a garden if you can. try using fewer chemicals to clean or care for yourself. enjoy the water, but stop moving people to phoenix and los angeles where water has to be expensively pumped in to maintain your gardens and lawns and lifestyles where without government subsidies you would die of thirst. too many celebs are famously vocal and infamously numb.

One more environ-MENTAL waco. Her & Al Gore are NUTS!!! What caused the last Ice Age to melt? Humans doing what; going to the bathroom? The SUN is the cause of warming if there is any.

Maybe we could purchase 'square' credits from cultures who dont use tp. You could get them at the carbon credit store. One stop shopping!

I am all for doing whatever we can to help the environment mend itself. However, I have heard this suggestion before, and that is all it can really be. I mean it is kindof a personal crusade, if you know what I mean. How would you regulate that, what would the regulating agency be, who is going to physically oversee this regulation, and what kindof penalty would you attach to a violation? We have all gotten carried away with brainstorming ideas, but let's come done to earth, now, and figure out a way to make an earth-friendly CD. How about one made out of hemp?

TP reduction to help 'global warming'? What a laugh. The sun is causing the Earth to warm, nothing more. However, using global warming as an excuse to clean up the environment is at least a good use for political positioning. Humans have managed to screw this planet up in a few thousand years, where the dinosaurs kept it going for hundreds of millions - but they didn't have politicians.

Sheryl Crow's 1-square theorem:
The number of squares of toilet paper used to clean the A55 after pooping is exponentially proportional to the number of minutes sitting on the toilet.

N = 1.5M^4 (1.5 times M to the 4th power)

Where N is the number of squares of toilet paper,
and M is the number of minutes sitting on the toilet.

Elaborately
1 square of toilet paper is used after 1 minute of sitting time
7.5 squares are for 1.5 minute
24 squares for 2 minutes
...
1 whole roll 5 minutes
...

Cheryl Crow stated,

'Although my ideas are in the earliest stages of development, they are, in my mind, worth investigating...'

She is exploring real daily routine changes in human behavior, rather than merely speaking in abstract generalities which lead to status quo activity.

For those who criticize the specific use of toilet paper reduction, consider that, unless YOU and I make real changes in our energy-consumption habits, our home will continue to become increasingly polluted.

Instead of poking fun at toilet paper squares brainstorming, I challenge everyone to submit their own ideas of energy-consumption reduction.

Peace.

Crow is a fine example of why ordinary people dismiss environmentalists as freaks! 'Everyday environmentalists' plug along every day doing non-wasteful, sensible things and then a complete moron like she is comes along with her big mouth and undoes what normal people are trying to get across.

why doesn't she practice what she preaches. sure, sure, toilet paper. what about her house. does she really need to live in a 5,000 square foot house. look at ted turner, tbs giant, he drives a toyota pireous and lives in a 700 square foot apartment. instead of telling us druids what we should do, have all the actors who are green, downsize instead. THAT IS A SOLUTION. does she REALLY NEED a tour bus?? maybe 2 or 3 economically sound biodiesel vans would save pollutants.

It is truly amazing the way that entertainers and politicicans can think of ways for 'us' to save the planet-here is a real suggestion for those politicans and entertainers: eliminate some polution and and gas and leave this planet! We can get along just fine without these rediculous ideas! She is every bit as dumb as she sounds!
