Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will be hosting a dinner in New York City. The pair will help the Church of Scientology help promote it's latest project, a detox center for workers who struggled with breathing since the 9/11 attacks.
TMZ.com is reporting the charity dinner will cost attendees $6,250 each. Despite the high cost the event is expected to reach full capacity Cruise will speak to those in attendance about the benefits of Scientology and their new program, The New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project.
The project is aimed at helping those workers who helped in the 9/11 attacks and were exposed to fumes that affect their breathing. Workers will undergo vitamin and sauna therapies.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg has snubbed and criticized Cruise for implementing the program with no scientific backing.
The 30-day program, based on Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard's principles, offers free treatment to cops, firefighters and paramedics who believe they developed breathing difficulties and other ailments after working at Ground Zero.
Meanwhile, Rick Bahnken, president of the FDNY Uniformed EMTs and Paramedics union, does however back the program saying that most members who have undergone the treatment "have reported an improvement in their quality of life."

At least Tommy is doing something good in the name of his 'religion' instead of always spouting off with his judgemental, know-it-all attitude!!!!
