‘You're no Sanjaya,’ one fellow traveler reportedly shouted according to MSNBC, after Paula Abdul tried to pull a fast one on Southwest Airlines, claiming she was famous and needed to board first.

Jeanette Walls "scoops" from Star magazine sources that Abdul earnestly attempted her diva trip, but passengers were reduced to laughter.

Abdul "reportedly thought she should receive special treatment on a recent flight, but the other passengers were having none of that."

On a recent Southwest flight, allegedly Abdul demanded — futilely— special treatment, unnamed sources snitched to Star.

“She pulled a major diva trip,” one “eyewitness” told Star. “The other passengers were not amused.”

Abdul was a passenger booked on a sold-out Southwest Airlines flight from San Jose to Burbank, California, and reportedly demanded first-class treatment despite the fact there’s no first-class section on the airline according to the Scoop at MSNBC.

“She asked to be let on the plane and seated first,” an “eyewitness” told the Star. When Abdul was told who was allowed on first (babies, old people, disabled) she allegedly declared, “But I’m famous! I need to go on first!”

The alleged response from a bemused passenger was: “You’re no Sanjaya! You have to board like everyone else.” That, according to the unnamed Star source, "prompted a round of laughter from the others — except Abdul."

Star claims Abdul "pushed her way in front of the rest of the passengers" so that she could snag a front seat, reserving the one next to her telling others it was taken.

The tabloids report that a flight attendant "told her she had to give up the seat because the flight was full."

Abdul kept a low profile but was “twitchy” during much of the trip according to Star.

Clearly, pop singers must be given special treatment wherever they go. Isn't there something about that in the Declaration of Independence: 'All men are created equal...unless they've had a Top 40 hit.' Next time Paula can sit on my lap - then she'll be head and shoulders above everyone else on the flight.

I'm always skeptical when I hear or read the word 'sources' and also a 'person who wanted to remain annonymous'!!!

the reason people are listed as unnamed sources is fear of lawsuits, they can be shielded by laws that protect reporters...its that simple. PS...99% of everything in the National enquirer is true-they outed Rosie, Ellen, and so many other stories before anyone else. Even the paparazzi that stalk these people have stories they can't repeat-things they see because of lawsuit threats. Ohm and the majority of dirt the tabs get is from insider friends, family and associates who make a litte extra money doing so, one friend is a makeup artist and she sells her stuff to Star magazine. Don't be naive.

I don't see the need for a respectable web site like M&C to publish trash like this. Or has M&C now become a tabloid? If so, I'll go elsewhere for my news!
