Scientologist John Travolta has claimed to an Irish newspaper that he is as big as Elvis and Marilyn Monroe.  Travolta credits Scientology for saving him from the sad fates of the two doomed stars.

The “Wild Hogs” star told the Irish Independent news he did not suffer the same fate as them because of his "values and religion."

“I have fame on the level of a Marilyn Monroe or an Elvis, but part of the reason I didn’t go the way they did was because of my beliefs,” Travolta told the Irish Independent.

“People make judgments about it [Scientology], but often they don’t know what they’re talking about,” Travolta said. “I would advise anyone who wants to know about it to read up on it. We [the Church of Scientology] are only getting bigger and we help people all over the world, from disaster zones to drug rehabilitation.”

Travolta told the Independent his PR plans for Scientology in Germany, where it had been under attack in some circles. “We were having a problem in Germany [where some critics called Scientology a money-making entity rather than a religion],” he told the Independent. “I talked to [former president Bill] Clinton who talked to Chancellor Kohl and things have improved since then.”

Scientology was started in the 1950s by a science fiction writer named L. Ron Hubbard, in fulfilment to his declared aim to start a religion to make money. It is an offshoot to a method of psychotherapy he concocted from various sources which he named "Dianetics" - a form of regression therapy. It was then further expanded to appear more like a religion in order to reap generous American tax exemption benefits for religions. Hubbard then called it "Scientology".

The mysterious story of Lord Xenu is shared with Scientologists when they become operating theatans III (OTIII).   Allegedly it is at this point you telepathically communicate with harmful body thetans to make them go away.

It is claimed that to reach this level a great deal of money is paid or or you have to work very hard for the organization on extremely low pay for many years according to Operation Clambake, a website created by disgruntled ex Scientologists.

Clambake claims that most of the Scientologists who work in their Dianetics* centers and "Churches" of Scientology do not know the Xenu story since they are not allowed to hear it until they reach the secret "upper" levels of Scientology.

It may take them many years before they reach this level if they ever do. The ones who do know it are forced to keep it a secret and not tell it to those people who are joining Scientology according to Clambake.

Scientology (a made-up cult) has ruined another brilliant life. How sad that some people let their philosophical and/or religious beliefs turn them into self-righteous self-centered monsters.

Well said!

Elvis is an AMerican and World music Icon, Travolta is just famous for Saturday Night Fever. Elvis was sick, needed a helping hand from a true friend, or friends. Now Travolta has this Pharisee attitude that he is OK because of his cult (Occult) Scientology. No way to be so egocentric to compare yourself to such a monster, musically speaking as Elvis Aaron Presley!

He is the King and will always be! Travolta, come down to earth please.
