Jennifer Lopez sues Enquirer in UK courts

03/28/2007 - Marc Anthony - Jennifer Lopez © Janet Mayer / PhotorazziAccording to Forbes and other news sources, the husband and wife team are filing their suit and claiming that any link to a drug scandal is false.The libel laws in the U.K. are skewed to favor wronged celebrities, and may result in a result than they might not find in a stateside court of law.The article in question that set off the action was published in March, 2007, the printed British and Irish editions of the American based Enquirer, and it accused both Lopez and Anthony of being "caught up in a heroin scandal." The Enquirer printed a photo of Anthony standing with photographer Michael Star, who is facing heroin and child pornography charges in the United States.According to AP, the couple is demanding "a six figure settlement," an apology and a retraction.
