Imagine you are the girlfriend to a Prince of England, trailed by paparazzi, criticized for not being royal enough, then suffer through a very public break-up.
Kate Middleton has maintained dignity and grace through this ordeal, and Americans once again watch, and are a bit perplexed as their cousins across the pond speculate harshly on the reasons why the Prince and his girl are no longer.
Middleton seemed to be a fit and fine choice for the future King of England. But what caused the break-up is showing the class lines that are very real still for Britons.
It is being speculated that Kate, while on Holiday with Wills, put it to him for a wild weekend sans Middleton, where the inebriated Prince was photographed with a couple of visiting student girls in a bar, his hand uncomfortably placed on one girl's breast.
A Daily Mail source stated: "I know boys will be boys but some of the things Will was getting up to with some pretty silly girls are frankly insulting to Kate."
A multitude of British newspapers cite Kate Middleton's strong network of friends and family are circling the wagons around her, and fighting back in the press with comments.
William, 24, has allegedly been linked with other women in the past few weeks.
The Daily Mail claims Wills "celebrated" his break-up by "running up a £800 drinks bill at the Mahiki nightclub in Mayfair on Saturday."
The friends of Middleton claim Kate is too good for the carousing Prince, and that she is made of "sterner stuff."
Kate and William had allegedly made a pact never to discuss their four-year relationship to anyone.
Despite potential lucrative tell all offers lurking out there, Kate "is not that kind of person" claims her friends to the Daily Mail, saying she has decency and honor.
Another friend tells the Mail: "Everyone is focusing on how William felt trapped and dumped her. The truth is it was not like that at all. It was by mutual consent. Kate is a top girl."

well said Therese!! ;) not much can be added to that.. the two princes unfortunately still have a lot to learn when it comes to self respect and dignity.. Kate is currently defining the true meaning of REAL CLASS!!
she's a class act-and will find a man worthy of her soon I bet
Therese - you are spot on with your description of him. He is certainly his father's son. As for Kate - she's well shot of him and his ridiculous family.
I do not know what part of the globe Therese hails from but around here the 't-word' (as in 'upper class t...'), is an extremely bad word. I am surprised you people let it be posted here. You should be careful that you do end up getting 'Imused'.
Yes, the 't-word' doesn't even apply to men. Perhaps she meant 'twit.'
Well just look at the roll model he has in his father. He marries a woman only to have children and cheats on her the entire marriage. Like father like son. Wow! What a legacy.
Weehl...bein' frum such auspcious background as me is, I can tewl you vat growin' up in Canada, singing God Save The Queen an' then realizing the frickin' class fing is what 'as 'eld us back....
I moved to the United States. It is a wonderous place. No Lady and Lord this or that. Just live your life. No bizzare and corrupt parliamentary system. Just a bizzare and corrupt checks and balance system...where we can throw the bums out regularly.
Where is Oliver Cromwell now that you need him?
Honest folks...give the boot to 'ER and the rest of the sycophants, and don't let the door hit their arses on the way out.
the russians had the right idea -----regarding royalty
The Queeen is reputed to have said 'what we don't want is another Diana' Heaven help us! What Britain doesn't need is another philandering Charlie.
The queen, apparently not satisfied having meddled in and ruining her children's marriages, is now busy meddling in and lousing up her grandchildren's lives as well.
The T word does apply to men. I know several!
One of the reasons was that Will thought there was no more fun. Well Willy, this is how all relationships become eventually. Fun dies, but mutual respect and love grows. How sad that instead of taking this to the next level, you pursue your fun-filled days. Crash and burn just like your daddy. Kate will be the Camilla who will marry someone else and it will be too late for you. Except kate will live happily ever after.

When are the so-called privileged elements of society going to recognise that possessing class has nothing whatsoever to do with a person's fortunes of birth. Class is determined by a person's level of self-respect, and the respect they show to others. Prince William and his drunken 'upper class' cronies have shown time and time again that they possess no class whatsoever. Kate Middleton and her family, on the other hand, have shown they possess it in abundance. William needs to remember that his popularity is based almost entirely upon that of his mother's; the more frequently he's observed behaving like a spoiled upper class twat, the sympathies and respect he has so far been afforded will diminish very quickly. Choosing to forego having a real woman by his side to support him in the challenges his life will no doubt present, in preference to a socialite clone with the right 'pedigree', is a mistake he will live to regret.
