just as bad as Imus-- worse, because ol'snoop obviously has a problem with women in general, and black women in particular. THIS is a brain on drugs, narissim, and just a bad general attitude.

I am noticing conservatives are defending Imus by stating that Rap and Hip Hop uses the same language. Regardless of someone else's wrongs from the past, present, and/or future, the fact remains that Imus knowingly committed this unbelievable blaspheme over airways reaching millions of people. 'Other' arguments of Rap and Hip Hop should be or should have been addressed at the appropriate times, not now. Do not desensitive our feelings for the wrong committed against these young women by stating that 'rappers' do it all the time.

Now here's someone for every young person of what ever color, race, or creed to aspire to be like and to look up to. Can you imagine how Messrs. Sharpton and Jackson and their legions of 'they can do no wrong and whatever they say has to be what is' followers would be doing if some one other than a person of color were to use such colorful language to refer to comments made by a person of color?

time and place for everything. Comedy clubs and unregulated satellite radio-okay-FCC regulaged networks -not okay.
Language isn't the problem, it's the actual intent behind the words. Blacks know what their issues are within their own communities-and truly,
whites don't care and won't fix their problems for them. I have yet to meet a white person who HONESTLY is 'offended' by the terms ofay, cracker or honky, the calls for hypocricy are ludicrous. The comments Imus made were toughtless, unkind, but the reaction is as always these days, over the top.

Does anybody remember what Imus started out saying before he said nappy-headed ho? He said 'If I were a punk on the street, I would call them...' Then, he went on to pathetically try to joke. Insulting women IS NEVER a joke or ACCEPTABLE. No way does Snoop or anybody else use ho and b*tch in a respectful manner. But that's beside the point. Snoop needs to keep his dirty mouth shut, Imus was trying to emulate the disrespectful and violent sub-culture in the black community. And YES!! I AM offended when I'm referred to as 'cracker b*tch', etc. when I turn black guys down at the night club. Can't they see my wedding ring? I guess they should all make public appologies to me, HUH? Oh, that's right. Blacks don't have to appologize for inappropriate behavior.

You think Imus remarks were bad but you bunch of pukeheads make us sick with your foul mouths and stupid music or whatever you call it. You rappers are disgusting idiots with no thought whatsoever who you make sick. All of you should be glad to be US citizens and not living in Africa - feel lucky that we bought you here or some of our ancestors did. Get over it and move on suckers

Angry Black WomanApr 13th, 2007 - 00:29:22

Though people may want to find some kind of comparison between the two, it is NOT the same thing. First of all, when rappers use these words they are not referring to a SPECIFIC I repeat SPECIFIC person or persons as Imus did. These words are in their lyrics, no one knows who they are talking about because no names or women's basketball teams etc. are being used. Please believe if they ever did offend a particular black woman by name sports team publicly or otherwise as DON IMUS did, they would get in just as much trouble lawsuits suspension or whatever as whites, depending if the person/s they NAMED/REFERED to wanted to take it there. People, and NOT just black people, use the word everyday. Bottom line, you can't compare someone who actually made a statement to a particular group of people to someone who just uses the word.

People like LORA COLLA are the reason we have these racial desputes in the first place. No matter what people say, someone will get offended, and remarks like that are what make it a lot harder to just 'get over it'. What was the point in saying something like that? Oh by the way, thats why they have different radio/tv stations and off buttons....so you dont have to listen to or watch garbage if you don't want to.

Granted, Imus shouldn't have said what he did in referring to a particular group of women, but enough already!!!! Aren't there more important things going on right now than to have this news on every minute on every station every day??? Do you realize while this media 'tiff' was going on, more precious troops were being slaughtered in Iraq????

You are stupid as hell white ho,

If you know the US history, everyone came to this country as immigrants looking for a better life. The American people stole this country from the Indians and if it wasn't for the Indians your ancestors would have died the first year. People like you keep predjuice around, everyone need to like & respect people for who they are not the color of their skin. Mr. Imus have suppose to be an educated man, so why would anyone belittle themselves to emulate
stupid rappers.

Don't let Imus start a racial war he made a stupid comment and now he is paying for it. I agree we should learn to like each other for who we are not the color of our skin. The Real Deal in BostonApr 13th, 2007 - 22:35:33

OK, so you have al 'not so' sharpton, stoop dog and jesse jackass and only two bullets left... what do you do? simple... shoot yourself twice so you don't have to listen to their stupidity.
Al Sharpton, who could be Don King on a bad hair day (before the nutrisystem)has got to be the worst leader of any race.
In Boston, we are plagued by Blacks shooting Blacks every day and who comes to help? White guy Curtis Sliwa and the Guardian Angels. Hey Al, where are you with your multitudes? What's up, no money in it for you and Jesse, the urban terrorist?
First off, I am not a guy with 'a bunch of Black friends' and I don't sympathize with 'the Black problem' (whatever that is).
I have a large group of people I refer to as Friends, some of whom are Black, and I sympathize with anyone in need, no matter if they are Black, White, Asian, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim.... You get the picture.
Fact... Imus is an idiot for making that statement, albeit his intentions didn't seem to be overly offensive when not taken out of context.
Fact... what is offensive, is that fact these girls are claiming to be scarred for life when people who survived 'real discrimination' have risen above and become respected and sucessful members of society.
Fact... Blacks aren't the only group to be disrespected. After 9/11, everyone hated all the Arabs. Jews are hated for no reason in more areas of the country than anyone. Gays are beat up because people don't think the same way.
Fact... Al Sharpton is NOT going to help resolve racism. (nor is Jesse or Snoop poop) They are more likely to worsen the tensions.
Fact... anyone who believes that snoop poop doesn't offend all people of decency needs a cup of coffee to wake the F*** up.
Fact... none of the three dolts mentioned above run a camp for kids with Cancer or did any of them expose the Drug companies for contributing to the rise in Autism in this country. Don Dildo Imus did.
And lastly, to the woman who said rappers don'r name individuals in their songs, you need to do your homework a little better or sell your record player and buy something current to listen to your favorite artists. (Ice Cube, Ice T and best of all, Tupac)Hint*** remember when Tupac was prosecuted, he wrote a little diddy about the DA... it was on the 'All eyes on me' CD?
Have a great day to all who suffered through my tirade.
And try to see people for who they are and not what they look like and above all, don't obsess about a stupid comment that was 'repeatedly apologized' for and learn to forgive and forget.
Peace

Everyone is acting like what Imus said was not wrong and that he shouldn't have been punished! No matter if rappers use it or not, he knew better than to say it (especially to a group of young women). Sharpton and Jackson do elevate issues to an entirely new level, but WHO CARES!! Imus was wrong and 'that's that'.
