Rowan Atkinson’s Bean king of UK comic characters

Rowan Atkinson, "Mr. Bean" character has been voted number one in a poll as the British favorite comedy character in an online poll.
"Mr. Bean" has been named Britain's all-time favorite comedy character.
Rowan Atkinson’s creation topped a poll with 15 per cent of the vote, while his "Blackadder" character came fifth.
Sacha Baron Cohen and Matt Lucas also had two of their characters in the top ten.

3. Borat
4. Basil Fawlty
5. Blackadder
6. Ali G
7. Vicky Pollard
8. Lou And Andy
9. Father Dougal
10. Alan Partridge
The poll was conducted among 2,000 users of Windows Live Space, and also asked people to name their favorite TV comedy moment of all time.
No 1 was the scene in "Only Fools and Horses" when Del Boy leans on a bar counter and misses.
It was followed by Monty Python’s dead parrot sketch and David Brent’s dance from "The Office."
Lee Evans was named the best comedian of all time, followed by Billy Connolly, the Two Ronnies, Jimmy Carr and Ricky Gervais.

Mr Bean through his acting has brought British movie to international fame.It's always a pleasure to watch and re-watch his silent sitcoms, enabling anyone to enjoy them around the world. Funny gestures and situations speak for themselves. There is no need for language.

Atkinson is not remotely funny.
Pretending to be retarded is not acting, for instance in 'Rain Man' Dustin Hoffman was acting, in 'I am Sam' Sean Penn was pretending.
