Liz Hurley's new father-in-law is preparing to testify against her over claims her wedding flouted Indian laws.
Vinod Nayar has agreed to provide evidence in legal proceedings brought against the newlyweds by Vishnu Khandelwal, a devout Hindu.
It is alleged the couple drank alcohol, wore leather shoes and behaved inappropriately by kissing in front of cameras during the ceremony in Rajasthan last month.
Prosecuting lawyer H M Saraswat said: "Vinod contacted me. He wants to disclose some important facts. He told me that when Arun Nayar and Liz Hurley came to the mandap (marriage place), Arun Nayar left his footwear outside but Liz Hurley refused to remove her footwear.
"Our intention is to prove that the procedures adopted by both the accused for their marriage is against our Hindu rites."
The couple have been charged at a court in Jodhpur under section 295 A of the Indian Penal Code.
If found guilty of a "deliberate and malicious act" against the religion Liz and Arun could face a three-year prison sentence.
Vinod has publicly disowned his son Arun saying he and his wife Joanne, 55, were treated like "second-class citizens" at the couple's wedding celebrations.
He has also accused the lovers of "blatant and cynical commercialism", referring to the couple's £2 million magazine deal with Hello!
Vinod's bitterness towards the newlyweds has infuriated Liz.
A source said: "Liz went absolutely ballistic when she found out what Arun's family had been saying about her. As far as she is concerned she never wants to see Arun's father or stepmother again."
The couple had two lavish wedding ceremonies - one at Britain's historic Sudeley Castle, the other on a Mumbai beach.

Totally agree, my sentiments exactly. Most of them think they are of the caucasian race, regardless of their color. She and him deserves whatever is thrown at them. She should of been more respectful of other people's culture, that what you get when you have no respect for others and thinking you are hot shit..... no sympathy.
I'll repeat what I read the other day - 'Who gives a rat's a**????'
Boy, you two are such racists. Racists with a pity for the culture of the 'colored' people. Reading your comments make me sick.
We already have enough trash here in India so imported white trash from the UK (Liz and her mates) are not really needed. Why couldn't this cow and mogli get married on an island somewhere and leave us in peace ? And whats up with that Hello mag monsoon wedding theme ? Go back to Slough, Blackpool (or whatever small town you are from Lizzie) and leave us the hell alone. A slot of English anyone ?
Oh boy. Some of you are so racist. Arun is half white by the way.

Liz...the poor thing, she could not nab a white guy, even Bing Jr, or some white English Lord, she had to marry an Indian, who thinks he is 'an anglophile'...
What she did to the Nayar Family was totally disrespectful, guess she did not want unsightly looking Indians in HELLO mag.
Arun is stuck with her now. low class english girl, with money...
