Jennifer Garner has admitted she is a "wreck" when she is separated from her baby.

The former 'Alias' actress can't bear to be parted from her 15-month-old daughter Violet, even though her child copes fine without her.

Jennifer told Britain's Hello! magazine: "Before I became a mother, I thought the pull from Violet would not be as huge as it is. I thought it would be easier for me to work, that I'd be like, 'Oh, it's fine, she's here, she's happy.'

"And that actually isn't the case. She is fine. I'm the one who is a wreck if I don't get to be with her!"

Jennifer - who is married to Ben Affleck - stars alongside Timothy Olyphant and Juliette Lewis in her first movie since giving birth 'Catch and Release'.

The 34-year-old knew she wanted the part as soon as she read the script.

Jennifer said: "I have to really love something a lot to be willing to not be with my little girl every day.

"The first time I read it, I knew I had to do it. The writing is just so beautiful and playable and real."
