New York - One day after an autopsy revealed model and Playboy pinup Anna Nicole Smith died of an accidental drug overdose, an investigation began in the Bahamas into the death of her 20-year- old son last year, media reports said.

Daniel Smith died in his mother's hotel room in September just three days after the birth of Anna Nicole Smith's daughter, Danielynn.
He reportedly had a mix of methadone and two antidepressants in his blood stream when he died. The investigation will interview doctors, nurses and acquaintances. Howard Stern and Larry Birkhead, both of whom claim to be Danielynn's father will also be called to testify, Fox News reported.
After the young man died, rumours of murder surfaced because he stood to inherit the fortune Anna Nicole Smith was in a legal fight to inherit from her late husband J Howard Marshall.
She died February 8. Authorities yesterday ruled out murder and suicide in her death.
