Okay, where was the criticism of Madonna and her 'wanna be' English accent? She had barely been in England for a year before she started talking with a muddled British accent. The truth is you can pick up an accent after immersing yourself in a different culture like that.

I was the biggest Madonna trasher over it but I changed my tune after simply living around someone from the South (USA) and started saying things with a twang myself! It was funny. Why would Madonna after living in Britain for several yrs now and living WITH a Brit NOT pick up an accent? I don't think Joss is trying to turn into an American. Everyone knows she's British. There has got to be something more newsworthy to report on than this.

Joss needs to be herself. She is determined to be an Artist who can be embraced by Top Pop radio stations and African-Americans. Joss has a soulful voice & is very good. But dying her hair red/brown & taking on an American accent can only go so far. If you're not real people won't buy into what you're trying to sell. Yeah comparing Madonna to Joss is like comparing Mariah Carey to Jessica Simpson. Madonna is the Queen of pop music & reinvention. Madonna can start speaking Chinese tomorrow & she will still sell music - she keeps it REAL, British accent or not. Joss is still trying to find her niche in the Music World!!
