Lou Diamond Phillips wants to star in the long-rumoured sequel to 'The Breakfast Club'.
The actor was a huge fan of the original 80s movie, which focused on a group of troubled teens thrown together in detention, and has even considered what role he would play.
He told British radio station Heart: "I want to play the principal.
"There was nobody ethnic in 'The Breakfast Club' - even though Emilio has a Spanish name."
He added: "Do I think it's a good idea? I don't know. The first one was so brilliant I think they would really have to put a contemporary twist on it and make it a little more relevant to today's youth."
"All of the John Hughes films really spoke to the kids so I think you'd have to really update it and examine what modern day teenagers are going through."
The first movie is widely considered to be a cult classic featured members the famous Hollywood 'Brat Pack' - a group of young US actors who shot to fame in the 80s.
Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, and Anthony Michael Hall all starred as delinquent pupils.
