Amy Winehouse says listening to jazz music is like taking drugs.
The 'Rehab' singer - who has confessed she used to smoke marijuana - has likened the high she gets from jazz to hallucinogenic drugs.
Amy said: "When I listen to a jazz record, it's how I imagine opium must feel. I just drift off into this happy trance.
"For as long as the record's playing, everything just seems better, painted in nicer colours."
The 23-year-old has also dismissed her BRIT Award, saying she doesn't consider it a great achievement.
She said: "It's just the frosting on the cake as far as I'm concerned. I don't feel validated by it or anything. Making music matters to me and obviously I want to carry on doing it.
"As for the rest, it's all just c**p really."
Amy also says she doesn't care about being famous and says she would have been "blissfully happy" if she had never made it as a singer.
She insisted: "Being famous means nothing to me. If all this vanished today, I honestly wouldn't mind.
"I never had to go and bang on people's doors or send demos. People came to me.
"If they hadn't done I would never have done any of this. I'd be working in an office somewhere - blissfully happy, I suspect."
