Jennifer Garner thought her baby weight would just "melt".

The 'Catch and Release' star - who gave birth to daughter Violet on December 1 2005 - hoped she would get her figure back with no effort and was shocked when she didn't.
Jennifer, who is married to Hollywood hunk Ben Affleck, said: "I thought it would melt off because it had with so many of my friends. My sisters were thinner after they had their babies than before.
"So while I was waiting for it to melt off, I was eating all these muffins and cookies and drinking beer. Finally I realised that I wasn't going to get thinner magically - I had to do it. So I got back on the treadmill."
The 34-year-old actress works out whenever she gets the chance, including while Violet is asleep.
She said: "Right now my life revolves around being a mother. I'm up early and on the go all day. I work out during her nap."
