Snoop Dogg was held on suspicion of using illegal drugs in Sweden on Sunday night (11.03.07).
The rapper, who was on his way to a party in Stockholm after performing with P Diddy, was stopped by police and deemed to be "under the influence of narcotics".
Snoop and an unnamed female in her early 20s were detained at Stockholm police station at 1.25am and released four hours later.
Duty sergeant Mats Brannlund said: "He was arrested for use of narcotics. It's illegal in Sweden to use them, even to have it in your system.
"A person indicates that he has used narcotics if you look in his eyes or study his movements. Police suspected he had taken drugs."
Snoop underwent a series of tests and the results are due in two to three weeks.
If the tests confirm there were drugs in his system, he will face a means-tested fine.
A small amount of narcotics were found in the car, but police didn't specify which type of drug and said it was unclear if they belonged to Snoop.
This isn't the rapper's first drug-related offence.
Snoop - real name Calvin Broadus - is currently facing weapons and drugs charges following three separate arrests in 2006.
In January, the 35-year-old was also arrested for possessing a deadly weapon after airport security found what was described as a collapsible baton in his luggage.
