SP4: Do what Al didMar 7th, 2007 - 22:40:19

This is the wrong approach, kids. Do what the chinese did with Gore in the 90s:

Send campaign money to the USA for Clinton/Gore

Get Clinton to exempt China from Kyoto

China can then complete one new coial plant a week.

This will work far better. Too bad our Pacific Northwest air is suffering though. Which Al Gore junkie do we see about that?

I looooove meat, and all the negative environmental effects that come with it! I just love biting into a delicious real chicken sandwich and thinking about how I am doing my own little part to contribute to global warminng. Victory is sweet.

I sincerely hope that Al Gore takes this message to heart, and discovers that the single greatest act he, or anyone can do to reduce global warming is to adopt a vegan diet.

I am amazed that Al Gore leaves out going vegan as a huge step in helping to sustain the earth. I wonder if he doesn't want to give up meat, or what the reason is. Wake up Al! It's good for the Earth, and your health (and the animals)!

Perhaps Al just isn't familiar with these facts, but those of us who have done our homework realize how important it is for our environment, our health, and other reasons to forego meat and animal products. I'll be tracking this story to see his response.

This is a very good point by Peta and whether you are a meat eater or not, if you are an intelligent human being who is open minded you ought to be able to see that this is an irrefutable fact. I am a vegan but I certainly don't expect all the meat eaters in the world to go vegan/vegetarian (although of course I'd love that). Realistically all of us non meat eaters simply wish for better, more natural and pain free living conditions for farm animals and a trend away from so very much meat eating. Everyone could contribute to cutting down global warming by eating les meat surely?Saying that your meat/ dairy consumption is not having an effect in the grand scheme of things is to say that you are totally disconnected from this planet. In essence you are saying'your end of the boat is sinking...'!

Al, perhaps this is a really inconvenient truth for you, but nevertheless, it is the truth. A plant-based diet is not only the single greatest thing you can do to help reduce global warming, but it is also healthiest for your body, and kindest to the animals, too.

well, we cannot blame Al for not knowing... i mean he is trying to change the world. He may think going vegan is hard but with his kinda money and the products out there today it would be a cinch!! I hope he reads this and sees it as what must be done... amazing that animals could affect the environment so much... and to think it is all the humans fault... animals dont naturally exist in the environments we have put them in and we are destroying our world!! keep fighting the good fight my friends.. and dont let idiots like PETAKILLS discourage u... they suck and i feel sorry for them that they choose to remain stupid. Peace to all of you-E

Al gore is certainly aware of this fact. The fact is his familly are all ranchers and he doesn't want to piss them off. He is a hypocrite as are all the environmentalists who continue to eat meat!

As far as Mr. Gore is concerned, he is certainly in the company of the majority of environmentalists (are they all meat eaters?). Environmentalists are constantly beating the drum about recycling, carpooling, lowering our themostats, etc., all of which, of course, are necessary - but when it comes to the dinner plate, these same 'earth savers' have absolutely nothing to say. In essence, they neglect the most important, basic, and easiest way to have the greatest impact on the health of our planet, and that is to become a vegetarian, i.e., vegan. Today, with so many support groups, organizations espousing the rights of animals to live their lives as nature intended (and this certainly does not include living in squalor and filth in Old MacDonald's factory farms!), with taste-tempting meat analogs sold in health food stores, supermarkets, even by mail-order, and an ever-growing number of vegan and vegetarian-friendly restaurants, it is more than convenient to become vegan; in fact, to make our planet a decent place to live both for humans and nonhumans, it's mandatory. So hurry on down to your local book store, Mr. Gore, buy a vegan cookbook (there are hundreds to choose from), and start cooking, and eating, health-sustaining, earth-friendly, and humane meals. Your body, the animals, and the earth will thank you for it.

I read the study from the FAO organization of the UN and it is IRREFUTABLE. Wow, Mr. Gore needs to explain why he left this out; if he was unaware or if it was an inconvenient truth. All his credibility will go away if he doesn't address this issue and, I am afraid, he really has no choice but to state that we should avoid meat, eggs and dairy or, if we have to eat them, limit them drastically. Remember, he didn't say to not drive; just to avoid driving as much as possible and, if we have to, drive a hybrid. He can take the same approach with animal farming.

Al Gore's bloating of the 'global warming' story is in direct proportion to his physical bloating. I'd give Al another 5 years before he blows. I wonder how much co2s that would release? Al you can send me in advance $10,000 for 'carbon credits' to compensate for this event. I'll take Beano 2days a week to do my part....cash, check or money order please.
By the way I'll have my steak....medium rare....ummmmm.

Ok, here's the enlightened commentary: Al Gore's silence on this issue helps reveal the real reason he's on the global warming bandwagon: to gain publicity to jump-start his political career. Giving up meat is not on his agenda. And besides, global warming is a farce. 20 years from now the media will again be talking about the coming Ice Age. Moreover, for you PETA fans, what do you think would happen to animals if people stopped eating them? That's right! No demand for animals translates into no animals! So, do your part to save the animals by eating a meat pizza, and help stop the coming Ice Age at the same time!

anyone who critizes vegans cannot call themselves a nice person. Vegans have done nothing wrong. Animals in factory farms, cant turn around, cant play are taken off their mothers from day one, have bone diseases respiratory diseases from living in their own faeces, go lame from the lack of movement , develop mad behaviours out of being confined , have their beaks and tails seared off with no anesthetic, soem never see the sun, people working at the slaughterhouses and factory farms are not always ncie so the animals are often kicked and dragged and then taken to slaughter. Cows have a mechanical blow to the head to stun them but this goes wrong very very often and they are still conscious when they are at the next station.chickens dont even have this and are just crushed and if they wriggle out then they go to the next station still cosncoius.
Male chicks born in the egg industry are put through a crushing machine.
