Joss Stone says people who mocked her US accent have personal problems.
The Devon-born singer - who shocked people with her pronounced US drawl at the BRITs last month - says she doesn't understand why people criticised her accent.
Joss told Britain's Radio 1: "The sound of my voice and my accent doesn't mean anything.
"If people have a problem with it - that's their own inner problem.
"I've been in America since I was 14. That's why I sound the way I do."
The 19-year-old 'Tell Me 'Bout It' singer insists she still has the right to moan about her job because singing is "hard work".
She said: "Everyone moans about their job. I don't see why I'm not allowed to moan.
"It's hard work and I'm tired and if I want to moan, I'll moan."

yeah,i've noticed all her contradictions alot too lately,well for a whilenow actually.She had the nerve too,to say on radio how she hates lies..she does nothing but tell them
I heard all about her cheating on her boyfriend too,and she's been smoking joints since she was about 13

She also said she'd never do shows like American Idol,yet she's gonna do Fame Academy,which they'll pass off as ''its for charity'' when in fact its cos her record company are in a panic about how much damage she's doing to her own career
Her new songs are awful,the lyrics are so bad,the production is making them better than they are!!

She was on Radio 1 the other week denying using any type of drug,then days later she's confessing to smoking joints
she was on Radio 1 just last week ranting on about her friends in the band,her gay hairdresser and some other guy who simply tramples round the world with her..how they are her REAL friends..now she's contradicting herself AGAIN,saying she hasnt got friend
FUNNY wasnt it just weeks ago she blasted her ex for saying EXACTLY that!! that she's lonely
Listen Stone...u do use drugs...the ppl in your band are u're PAID friends..girls dont like u for simple reason,they DONT trust u around their boyfriends [since u repeatedly cheated on u're own boyfriend]
