Robbie Williams' fight for sobriety

Singer Robbie Williams own mother has been enlisted in his struggle to get clean and sober. She has revealed to the Sunday Telegraph online how she held his head in her lap as he broke down.

Williams is in rehab at an Arizona clinic battling an addiction to undisclosed drugs and alcohol, a situation his mother Jan described as a "living hell'' to the SUnday Telegraph.

"There was one time when he came home in the middle of his drink and drug problems,'' Williams' mother said.

"He lay down on the rug with his head in my lap and I looked down at him and he was sobbing. For a moment I felt I was looking into a mirror, like it was my reflection. As a mother it was mind-blowing. I reacted as a mother first and foremost and stuck to him like glue. There was a lot of trauma.''

Williams just turned 33, and his album "Rudebox" could have done better in sales, and reviews.

Williams, according to several English media news sources, checked himself into the Meadows clinic in Arizona days before the BRIT Awards.

Some less than kind singers like Noel Gallagher said was a ploy to divert attention away from his "Rudebox" album. "I could talk to you for three hours about how bad he is,'' said Gallagher.

Williams former band, Take That, have stated they would like Williams to join them.
