Mark Wahlberg wants to play an English character in a movie. 'The Departed' star - who received a Best Actor Oscar nomination for his role in Martin Scorsese's film - is delighted with how his career has progressed but still has ambitions he is yet to fulfil.
Wahlberg, 35, told Britain's Empire magazine: "I'd love to take a shot at directing. I'd love to play a boxer. And I'd love to play an English guy. I don't have to play Tony Blair or anything but I'd like to take a crack at the accent - maybe a period piece or something."
Rapper-turned-actor Mark insists his career change marked a turning point in his life.
The star - who frequently got in trouble with the law as a teenager - said: "I spent 20 years doing the wrong thing. That wasn't cool. All it did was get me in trouble. I've changed drastically, thank God."
Mark - whose breakthrough role was as porn star Dirk Diggler in 1997 hit 'Boogie Nights' - worked as an underwear model before his Hollywood career took off.
