Helen Mirren's jealousy claims
Mar 3, 2007, 8:00 GMT
Dame Helen Mirren is worried other actresses will be jealous of her recent award wins.
The British actress has won a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and the prestigious Best Actress Oscar this year for her performance in 'The Queen' and is convinced her rivals will be green with envy.
Mirren told Britain's Hello magazine: "I am sure there are some actresses out there who are saying, 'Get that woman out of my face, I wish she would just go away.' This year, anyway."
Although she is waiting for a backlash, Mirren claims most of her peers have congratulated her on her success.
She said: "Actresses actually get on really, really well. There's a great sense of camaraderie and support."
Earlier this week, Mirren revealed Penelope Cruz is her screen idol.
She said: "I have spent a couple of evenings with Penelope Cruz, she is a wonderful girl. She is my own personal goddess."

Unfortunately, society seems to be sick with the disease of jealousy. I say to Dame Helen, don't worry about your so-called rivals. If they worked hard, then they will receive the awards too. You've grafted over the years for what you've got, so keep your head held high! Unfortunately, it's a shame that less successful people take great delight in knocking more successful people down. You can't please all the people all the time, no matter how hard you try. What these detractors don't seem to realise is that they are in the same industry and should be fighting the common cause - not each other! Success is down to 2 four letter words - HARD WORK! Dame Helen - enjoy your success and just carry on doing what you're doing - and get another oscar! That will REALLY tick 'em off! :))))
