Celebrity reporter Janet Charlton has unearthed an Oscar mystery crime that allegedly "nobody wants to talk about." Cate Blanchett was given a Lana Marks crocodile and diamond bag worth $100,000 to wear with her Armani gown to the Oscars. It disappeared from her hotel room prior to the award show.
The pocketbook was allegedly delivered to Cate's hotel suite in Beverly Hills. Charlton reports that on the Saturday prior to the Oscars, her hotel room was "full of people from Armani and Harper's Bazaar and her stylist hid the pricey bag in the back of the closet."
Busy with pre-Oscar appointments, Cate was said to be "out most of Saturday afternoon and evening." according to Charlton.
The next day no one could find the bag, reports Charlton. Allegedly feeling "awful" they told the news to the Lana Marks people that it was gone.
Now it is a police matter, and according to Charlton there is a "big investigation underway that includes people from Armani, Harper's Bazaar, and hotel employees."
