Diddy's Oscar party smackdown?

Rapper Sean "P. Diddy" Combs is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department for allegedly hitting a man at a Hollywood Oscar party, according to TMZ.
Real Estate Broker Gerard Rechnitzer was at a post-Oscar bash on Sunday night with his fiancee at a club at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.
At around 2 AM early Monday morning, the 27 year-old Rechnitzer was trying to leaving the party, he notice his fiancee was surrounded by six men, including Combs.
TMZ reports Rechnitzer's vitals as being 5'7" and 140 lb. - allegedly Rechnitzer watched as Combs continued to mack on his girl for about five minutes, and then he asked his fiancee to leave the party with him.
Combs allegedly told the woman he was having his own party and invited her to come. Rechnitzer then asked her again to leave with him. TMZ reports it was at ths point Combs then allegedly "socked" Rechnitzer in the face.
Rechnitzer called 911. The LAPD came out and took a report, but Combs had left before the cops arrived. An ambulance came but Rechnitzer declined treatment.
TMZ confirmed that LAPD contacted Rechnitzer yesterday - he claims to have five witnesses who observed the incident.
