Helen Mirren, who recently had tea with the real Queen Elizabeth, met and won the heart of her husband, director Taylor Hackford, on the set of "White Knights" and who told Barbara Walters she didn't understand why American women "wore those horrible shorts," which she eschewed in favor of skirts because of her "enormous bottom," Dame Helen Mirren was crowned the best actress at the Oscars for her performance in "The Queen."
"My sister told me all kids love to get gold stars - this is the biggest and best gold star I've ever had in my life," said a beaming Dame Helen as she gazed at her award.
The 61-year-old dedicated her win to the British monarch. Mirren gave her acceptance speech and held up the Oscar statue, saying: "Ladies and gentlemen - I give you, the Queen."
