Amy Winehouse insists inner demons are her problem, not alcohol.
The 23-year-old singer finds it "frustrating" to try and please people all the time and this is exacerbated when she drinks.
She told Britain's Independent newspaper: "I have a problem with myself that comes out when I drink, I don't really have a problem with drink. I try to please everybody all the time, and then it all builds up. I get frustrated."
When asked if a wild celebrity lifestyle might tip her over the edge she admits it is a concern.
Amy said: "I don't want to think about it. I can't think like that. Blackouts happen too often. Once I get on it I can't stop."
Her song 'Rehab' was written after her old management company urged her to check into a clinic to help her addictive personality.
But she confesses she tried to trick the doctor into believing she was fine.
"When I went to the rehab interview I did my hair all nice - perfect make-up, high heels, nice jeans, smart jacket - and the man took one look at me and thought, 'You don't look like you need help.' "
