Anna Nicole Smith's mother has accused Howard K.Stern of selling the TV rights to her funeral for $1 million.
Virgie Arthur claimed in court - during the battle to determine where Anna Nicole will be buried - that the lawyer and lover of her daughter is profiting from her death.
Arthur said: "I have not profited from the death of Daniel and Anna Nicole - but he has.
"I heard that 'Entertainment Tonight' is buying her funeral for a million bucks. He's the one who is getting the money - I'm not. That's why he wants her body."
Stern claims Anna Nicole wanted to be buried in the Bahamas next to her son Daniel.
Arthur wants to take her daughter home to be laid to rest in Texas. She is now asking for Daniel's body to be exhumed so he can also be buried in Texas.
Yesterday (21.02.07) Stern, Arthur and Larry Birkhead - who claims to be the father of the late model's five-month-old daughter Dannielynn - had a private viewing of Anna Nicole's body in a Florida morgue.
Her remains have been in cold storage for nearly two weeks at the Broward Medical Examiner's Office. Anna Nicole died on February 8 at a Florida hotel in unexplained circumstances.
Despite being embalmed, the body is decomposing rapidly and the judge has said he intends to make a decision on who will have custody of her body by Friday (23.02.07).

This is horrible! It seems the mother wnats the body to collect money, as she claims that Stern is 'making the money, not me...' Really sad. I just hope all this circus media is done by this weekend and let poor Anna rest in peace and the baby in good hands.

May Anna Nicole rest eternally in peace, fame and fortune devour yet another. (Methadone) in the fridge is not an average household staple. I am in recovery from one thing or another (it's not important what) and since 1989 I have heard that the only thing that awaits addicts and alcoholics without recovery is death, jail, and or mental institutions. How true it is. One day at a time (12 step) programs help millions of people. GOD does also, be prepared to change everything. You have to suit up and show up. Leaving rehab ala Britney (doesn't do much good). I think that her Mother has the right of burial over a non-married boyfriend that won't prove that he is the father of the child.
Pray for Hollywood and the 'characters' that we all love to watch and observe. What a sad ending to what could of been a long, sane, moral, healthy life. I felt sorry for her after watching her TV show that exploited her fame a couple of years back. You can worship God or money. You cannot worship both, you will serve one over the other.

Keep your religious mumbo jumbo to yourself. Last I checked Jesus was a failed revolutionary who claimed to be of the line of kings, surrounded with men with swords, who was was killed because his own people didn't want him. Then when the political movement failed those sword carriers (wasn't Peter a tax collector?) decided to start a religion and the Catholic Church soon became the most powerful entity on the planet. Secondly I'm pretty sure that having invisible friends is a sign of mental illness. Finally whatever channel this funeral is on will not be the channel I will be watching. I would however watch a stop motion of her body decaying into mush.

Anna Nicole Smith bought into the life of sex and drugs. She used sex, whether the act of or simply provoking the thought of, through her stripping early on to get what she wanted. She 'fell in love' with a man that was bound to a wheelchair, and just happened to be the richest man closest to death she could get her hands on. Later, she sets an example for her son that it is okay to be completely trashed, nd you could even profit from it, just sell your lunacy to AE for a reality show. Now her son is dead, from guess what... a mixture of anti-psychotics and depressants. Both of these were undoubtedy ingested by Anna Nicole on a daily basis at one time or another.
Make no mistake. Anna Nicole Smith signed a deal with the devil to escape her 'little Texas town'. She didn't read the small print of when it was time to pay up. There is no sympathy for Anna Nicole from me. She was entertaining, just as Ozzy Osbourne's antics are. But I'm not going to feel sorry for someone who caused their own death, and the sufferring of now 2 children because of their actions, simply because I wasted hours upon end watching them destroy themselves...and possible contributing to the problem by tuning in to the show that enabled them. I hope the baby gets every single dime, and it is secured in a trust fund until she is old enough to review her mother's life and understands the repercussions if she repeats it.

Hey Judge - She obviously was lonely and wanted to be beside her son (hence the extra plot purchased), so why not grant her wish. I've never seen so many people fight over a body of someone they had little to no feelings for...
Daniellyn - Girl, you have a long life ahead of you. Hopefully all of these idiots will quit fighting over your deceased mother and just bury her in the Bahamas where she wanted to be. Then they could actually move on to what matters more - your interests. God be with you.
There seems to be an religious aspect to this in the most perverse way. The only reason I can think that someone would want to see a strangers funeral is because one idolizes that person or is possessed by loathing.
We turned Marilyn Monroe, a very flawed person, into a goddess. Anne Nicole Smith is either a demon or an angel. People are transfixed by Britney Spears ' meltdown. Is this what we have come to be as a society.
I happen to be an agnostic but I understand the need of others to believe in something outside of their self to be a reference point at the least and a protector and provider at the most. I only say choose your idols and demons carefully.
Having said that I much more respect someone who truly believes in the teachings of Jesus, who may have not even existed than who either idolize or demonize the likes of Ms Smith. I admit that these people do provide amusement but they are merely human. How many of us could deal with the kind of life where every move is watched, every misstep the subject of ridicule? Then again writing on this board does expose us to a little of it. Just a small dose compared to these people.

I am discouraged over societies need for dirt. The fact of the matter is that this is a loss of live and if you weren't there in life and was not willing to love a child unconditionally then why create such a ruckus after her passing. For what ever reason Anna Nicole lived this way the price always has been hers to pay and at 39 I would think that there had to be a time that she thought about that even for a second. As a mother I know that no matter what if I had the choice I would be buried beside my child. For what ever reason Anna Nicole gave the public exactly what they wanted because , notice how long this has had priorty on the tv networks. It is time to let her go and let the sickness of all this disagreements go, put her with her son and leave her alone. From what the public has been told thus far Anna and her son were not the people in control and mourning for them should have started before time of death.
Anna's mother needs to give it a rest the bottom line is Anna couldn't stand her mother, and a blind person could see all she wants is money. BURY ANNA WITH HER SON. Vergie your going to rot in hell for everything you've done to the poor girl-your the reason she was living her life the way she was because her childhood was filled with sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. She couldn't have her in life why would anybody give her to her mother in death, especially her son's body and her granddaughter. And Stern let him make a quick buck because when it's all said and done that baby is not his and he knows it. Stern deserves the money alot more then Vergie even though Stern probably offed everybody trying to get the money for himself. But his gravy train will soon stop as soon as this weeeks out i hope they issue the blood test. R.I.P. Anna!

Doesn't much matter where she's burried, once the money is divied out the grave will get less visitors than a dentist office in Alabama.

I am soooo sick of seeing the news full of this Bimbo A.N.Smith, and this money hungry bum stern. The whole thing stinks, just like she is starting to do! Bury the girl, get DNA, settle her cases and be done but there is more money to be made by making a spectical of it all. I also think Stern should go to jail. Anna's son died last year and as her LAWYER1 he should have enough sense to change anna's will to make the baby the heir. But without that chnage in the will he gets to make more money off of Anna. He needs to be disbarred for ethics reasons. Everyone is there to pick up a pay check.

Does anyone else hate Howard Stern? I have no doubt he brought prescription drugs to Anna with both her names and his on the bottles. The judge is right, he was an enabler and I really think Entertainment Tonight is just showing us how Hollywood really is. Everyone tried covering up her addiction and the fact that Anna's best friend was essentially her drug dealer. That's typical life for an addict. Their friends are their drug providers. And in Hollywood, these stars have no one there to tell them to stop, to get help, but instead they just try to spin it, close the door, cover it up. It's really sick. And for ET to spin it in Howard's favor just shows the power the media has to be a part of the whole sick thing. They are not confronting him about letting her overdose year after year after year. They just spin it his way and try to get the exclusive. Sick.

I think the child should be given to the person who is willing to sign all rights to the money away and all the money should be put in a trust until the baby is of age. Then we will see who really wants the child.
We all know they care nothing for the child just the money she is
connected with. The person willing to do so would be the one to truly care for her and it not just be about the money.

For 2 weeks we all watched and waited while they fought over her body ... this woman is dead and her daughter is under age but thats why the jurge asigned a person to speak for the child Lay Anna to rest next to her son in the Bahamas and end it all. And lets find out who the daddy is again grandma back off you have no rights as long as that little girl has a daddy out there and you can feel what you want about Stein , he hasn't been charged with anything, back off before the man takes you to court for lieble,, get this child out of the spot light as it is she has to grow up in her mothers shadow. thank you

Why not put Anna Nicol's body up for sale on eBay? Or part it out to the highest bidders? Then, another judge can decide who gets the proceeds from the sale.
