Daniel has been very brave but unwise to do this. If he is still 17 years old, I am suprised his Equus nudity does not fall into the category of child exploitation / child pornography. I think possession of pictures of 17 year old boy naked and simulating sex acts would be illegal, why is it not illegal to show it on stage? At 17 (although he may roll his eyes if he reads this), he is not old enough to know better. I think his advisors have let him down. If he wanted to venture into complex psychological adutlt theatre with a titilation aspect, he should have done so at the earliest at 18, probably 21. 'Oh, come on Daniel, its art!' they probably said, but in reality it is solely the lure of seeing Harry Potter's naked (and highly desirable) teenage body which is pulling in 95% of the punters for this play. Ok, its beautiful, but Daniel keep it covered up till you're a man, then decide what to do with it!
Harvey, you clearly havn't been to see the play. If he'd of done it in his pants it wouldn't of had the same effect. And as i was at the first show i can tell you there was probably a third of the audience there solely because they wanted to see Dan in action, which by the way, he was FANTASTIC! He's a great actor, and he should be praised, not criticised, for this play. Being 17, he probably made his own mind up to do it. Im sure he has a mind of his own!!

what is all this nonsense about his age? He iS a MAN despite what the 'law' states. At 17 I'm sure he has a firm grip on reality more that the prudish 'adults' who forgot what they were like at 17! Long before we all became concerned about what anybody did with their life, our ancestors never thought twice if it was 'art' or 'porn', They had fun, had sex, raised faimlies and fought wars at 13, 14, 15, 16 year old! it's about life and I'm glad he has matured enough to know what he wants to do with his future.
When a boy who symbolizes everything that is 'still' good and moral in the entertainment industry, gives in to the old hollywood formulas like 'sex sells' and surrenders and allows himself to be dragged and enslaved by it, you know that the world has gone further down the drain.
Btw, the age of consent in the UK is 16 not 18.
In my personal oppinion, he looks quite good. Full support for EQUUS and for DAN!!!

Okay, I saw the production of Equus a couple days ago. And I must say, calling it 'child porn' is a bit extreme. Radcliffe is seventeen, yes, but the nudity is done in an extremely tasteful way and makes sense for the story. It works extremely well and it's an important part of the story, so he can't NOT do it. I know we live in a prude world, but Radcliffe is an actor playing a part. He's an artist trying to get out a message, and he did a damn good job too.
So be critical all you want, but it's art. Just like a painting of a naked woman is art. The human body is beautiful and can be used to express many different things, such as complete and total vulnerability like in this production.
So grow up a bit, and stop being so critical of him because he's Harry Potter. He's an actor playing a part, and surprisingly enough, he did a damn good job at it.

I think many people believe since he plays Harry Potter in the Harry Potter series, that he is suppose to remain as pure as his character. He is a 17 year old actor and has a perform his art (nude or not) without being judged. If you don't believe this play is appropriate then don't let your children watch it. I myself believe that there are much worse things in this world then a play that requires a young man to perform nude. It is a work of art and expression, and not of pornography or distasteful nudity.
talking about nudity it seem easier for girl or young woman to see nude man with his penis than boy or young man seeing woman genital. Just go to olive garden restaurant or buca di beppo, you girls can see painting of penis, statue of nude man with his penis, even the pgotograph of man with his penis hanging. There are so many nude statue of man where the penis is carved so diligently. in those restaurant, girls can see and study penis with relax.
somehow, it is difficult all almost impossible to see pussy lips with relax. Statue of naked woman usually only show nipple but not the genital. Most of the statue of nude woman, the genitalpart is covered by some kind of clothing. If there is the frontal naked woman statue, you can see the lips, the artist (all artist I guess) are afraid to carve the beatifull lips of vagina.
