Hugh Grant believes he was miscast in 'Music and Lyrics'.
The British actor - who plays washed-up 80s musician Alex Fletcher in the movie - insists he is one of the least musical people in the world and struggled with the role.
He said: "I really dreaded doing the music because I'm not a musical person and I'm frankly miscast in the whole film.
"It was very tough for me to have to get up there. I learned to play the piano a bit. I learned to sing a bit, or rather the computer can put you into tune, but the dancing - there is no hiding from that.
"I never enjoyed delivering a song on a stage by myself in tight trousers. It's the only time I seriously used alcohol and drugs for acting actually!"
Hugh is amazed how computer technology managed to make his tuneless voice sound good in the final film.
The actor explained: "I worked like a dog to get better at it - but I have to be honest, it's really the computers. Computers are unbelievable."
Hugh's co-star Drew Barrymore also recently admitted her "terrible" voice was only made better by computer wizardry, despite the fact she had singing lessons for months before filming started on the movie.
